Raytheon Technologies Sr. Principal Digital and Analog Design Engineer in Goleta, California
Raytheon Vision Systems is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Sr. Principal Digital and Analog Design Engineer to work as a team lead on Electro Optical control and processing electronics product development for defense applications. The position will be located in Goleta, California.
The candidate is responsible for developing unit, module, and/or SoC level requirements derived from system level requirements, developing associated architectures, implementing design, performing analysis and testing of the SoC, module, and/or unit in a laboratory setting. The selected candidate will be familiar with latest technology trend in the area of microprocessor, memory, FPGA and interface protocols. The candidate will work in the product development and test team environment with system, mechanical, and software engineers.
The selected candidate is responsible for managing the daily activities of a team spanning at multiple Raytheon facilities. The candidate would be responsible for cost estimation/ bidding of new programs as well as overall CAM (Cost Account Management) guidance of the functional areas within the team.
This position may require occasional business related travel. Part-time telecommuting is optional.
10+ years of experience in Electronics with a Bachelor’s Degree
Proven ability and aptitude to manage costs, schedule, and project milestones and deliverables (formal CAM training preferred)
Familiar with all aspects of circuit board design including:
CCA design layout
CCA design for manufacturability (IPC6012, IPC2221, IPC-TM-650, etc
PWB construction and design processes
Career interest in IPT/leadership/functional management
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong skills in team interaction.
Experience with design tools for both digital and analog PWB design (i.e. Pspice, Mentor Hyperlynx, Altium simulation tools)
Experience working with development hardware in a lab environment working with power supplies, oscilloscopes, customized test stations, test station software
Experience working with outside contract manufacturers (both printed wiring board suppliers and contract assembly houses
Experience interfacing with supply chain organizations for support of CCA build, assembly and test
Experience with engineering change control systems (i.e. Oracle Agile, Windchill, etc.)
Experience understanding product costing (both low volume and high volume) as well cost reduction management and techniques.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance within 1 year of hire
15 years of experience in Electronics is preferred
Familiarity with Firmware design process
Familiarity with embedded and test level software development processes
Familiarity with EMI / EMC design methods and approaches
Familiarity with environmental testing requirements and methods for CCAs
Required Education (including Major):
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a STEM degree with 10 years of professional experience.
