Raytheon Technologies Systems Engineer - Team REA Lead in Goleta, California
The RVS Systems Engineering organization is seeking a skilled and experienced engineer to join our team.
The Systems Engineer / Team REA Lead plans and manages the system engineering activities and associated budgets, guides engineering follow through of work products and support, supports proposal and change management activities for engineering and acts as a bid manager for proposals within engineering.
The Systems Engineering Department is responsible for all Electro-Optic Imaging Systems Definition, Architecture, Integration, product Verification & Validation along with program and project technical implementation to cost and schedule.
These activities typically include:
Regularly run and develop small multi-discipline engineering teams focused on program follow through
Coordinate and compile Engineering inputs for proposals and present bid summaries to management
Provide Systems engineering technical support to RVS Eo/IR programs and special projects
Actively manage engineering risks and opportunities and ensure R&O Register is kept up to date
Manage Engineering team budgets and report on Earned Value (EV) metrics
Co-develop program Integrated Master Schedule with Program Office and Technical Team to ensure all SOW items are addressed
Coordinate Engineering Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews and Pre-Ship Reviews
Provide technical support to production activities
Required Skills:
Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, OR minimum of 8 years with a Master's degree, OR Minimum of 4 years of related experience with a PhD in related technical field
EO/IR system and Focal plan knowledge with hand on experience
Proficient in MS Project and core MS Office software
Experience in work scope definition and bidding proposals
Proficient in Earned Value Management
Ability to create meaningful relationships and effectively partner with others
Ability to multi-task in a rapid paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated team stakeholder skills
Clearance required within 1st year AND role requires access to US only data
U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position will access US only information and need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
