In the pivotal role of Manager Integrated Engineering Logistics, you will lead the Integrated Support Logistics team (‘ILS’) holding responsibility for all aspects of the ILS function, engaging directly with our customer (the Royal Australian Navy); as you work closely with sourcing, software, technical, engineering and project management functions.
Your unique skills will see you providing essential advice to support the decisions made by key internal and external stakeholders; ensuring the Collins Class Submarines Combat System is supported across the full life cycle. Leading your team in the development and execution of multiple complex projects running in parallel, your new role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force (‘ADF’) personnel, capability partners, technology support networks, sub-contractors and suppliers.
Deliver comprehensive planning in complex systems - managing capability upgrades as well as updates to existing systems; including research, modelling and analysis to define and establish impacts on life-cycle costs, resource requirements, technical training, space requirements, environmental impacts, security standards and safety requirements.
Lead the team to prepare and deliver work packages for input considerations to ILS requirements including Reliability, Maintainability, Standardisation, Interoperability and Usability; accounting for People, Facility and Test environments.
Manage the delivery of technical publication and product documentation, including dissemination, presentation and training.
Secure Combat System logistics deliverables through the design, development and implementation of strategies and plans that are complementary to and supported by designated software;
Develop, modify and improve existing tools, processes and procedures to meet program requirements with endorsement from project stakeholders and functional leaders.
Skills, experience and qualifications
Minimum 6 years’ experience in ILS with proven understanding and wide application of technical theories and concepts in the field of support systems modelling, analysis and sustainment systems in business operations;
Degree qualifications in Science & Technology, Mathematics or Engineering or equivalent training coupled with relevant experience;
Practical knowledge and experience in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and plan implementation within projects and programs.
Advanced knowledge and skills specifically within Logistics Engineering with an understanding of the impact of, or work in, complex systems and matrix organisations.
Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Australian Government (Defence) Security Clearance.
This position will require availability to travel when required.
