Raytheon Technologies Sr. Systems Engineer in Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a talented candidate to provide support to the DSFS and DMSMP contract. The person selected will provide Maintenance Technician (MT) support and will be responsible and accountable for the initialization and operation of AF DCGS ground and airborne sensor systems used in the execution of the mission. This position will interface daily with users, mission planners, co-contractors, and other ground system maintainers to troubleshoot and correct system problems, analyze system performance, and make recommendations on system improvements. Specific duties include:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Active US Department of Defense (DoD) TS/SCI

  • 5 + years’ experience managing multiple airborne SIGINT sensor missions and processes simultaneously at a Core site

  • 5 + Information System Security Management experience

  • 5 + years of DCGS experience (7+ years without an Associates degree or greater in a technical field)

  • 2 + years of SIGINT sensor management experience

  • Individual will possess and maintain DoD 8570.1 (IAT Level II or IAM Level I) Sec+ preferred

  • Mission Essential (ME) and must be qualified to support computer operations under adverse conditions and hostilities

  • Operates and interfaces with multiple aircraft, airborne sensors, sites, networks, systems, and operations and maintenance personnel

  • Provide updates to Maintenance Technician position processes

  • Provide sensor troubleshooting and airborne fault resolution; identifies, resolves, and communicates issues with Low Band/High Band Systems, infrastructure, enterprise services, other SIGINT systems; support and recommend updates to SIGINT systems, Software, and networks

  • Provide technical and engineering support for sensors and networks

  • Create, update, and respond to Incident tickets

  • Manage data encryption changes and implementation

  • Monitor the SIGINT system and networks health/status (Sensor, platform, network paths to include crypto, DCGS SIGINT systems, and SIGINT related enterprise services)

  • Provide comprehensive analysis, diagnostics and fault isolation for the SIGINT systems and networks associated with ground components

  • Provide comprehensive analysis, diagnostics and fault isolation for the SIGINT systems associated with End-to-End network paths/DSFS systems

  • SIGINT and networks sustainment support during system upgrades

  • Monitor the networks connections between the SIGINT sensors and ground equipment

  • Coordinate efforts for sensor/system and network restoral

  • SIGINT process and network improvements/recommendations

  • Create Serena Mission Debriefs; provide systems status (includes sensor) to operations and maintenance personnel completes SIGINT portion of end to end mission debrief and closes debrief if appropriate

  • Perform Pre-Mission, Mission execution and Post mission responsibilities in support of the SR systems

  • Working knowledge of SEAM interface; COTS components, operational concepts; CICS SW component capabilities, failure indications, troubleshooting techniques, and recovery methodologies

  • Ability to obtain 700-19 authorization to work in country

  • Overtime, weekend work, nightshift, non-standard work week and extended shifts

  • Some travel may be required to support other locations during surge activities, installs or upgrades

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment

    Desired Skills:

  • Military SIGINT domains to include U-2, Global Hawk, MQ-1 and MQ-9 sensors and processing, exploitation and dissemination (PED) architectures

  • UNIX (Solaris or Linux) and Microsoft Windows system administration

  • COTS or GOTS software solutions used by DCGS operators and analysts (CICS, RIM, CETS, etc)

  • Administer (containers, storage and resources) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, etc.)

  • Software development methods (shell scripts, JavaScript, Python, PHP, C/C++, C#, Java, XML, HTML, etc.)

  • Oracle database system administration

  • x86-based server hardware and troubleshooting methods

  • Serena (ADSM) trouble ticket reporting system

  • Understanding of cyber security tools and methods

    Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. May substitute experience for education. (i.e., Associate's Degree or Technical School plus 9 years of related experience, no degree plus 13 years of related experience.)

  • As vaccine requirements in both the U.S. and overseas continue to evolve, there may be future country, customer, or other mandates requiring employees to be vaccinated. Therefore, it is possible that in the future this position may require that the successful candidate be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Since vaccine availability varies around the world, vaccine brands/origins also vary by country, and there is no guarantee of eligibility to receive the vaccine in the host country once deployed, it is recommended that the successful candidate get vaccinated prior to deployment.
