We are searching for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join us as a Mechanical systems engineer who can apply scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, verify & validate complex mechanical systems to support manned and unmanned, civil and military use of TASE Imaging Systems and Piccolo Autopilot. You will design, develop, document, and test components of stabilized imaging systems using mechanical engineering principles. This position encompasses new design and product sustaining support roles. The selected candidate will work closely with Systems, Software, Electrical, Test, and Manufacturing/Operations staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product's lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • System development trade studies and optimization

  • Creation of mechanical system block diagrams

  • Development of concepts of operations

  • Development of product requirements at the system/component level for mechanical hardware

  • Planning/procedures/reports including integrated development testing

  • Position is Hybrid, 2-3 days in office

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Creo design experience

  • Design for optimal size, weight, power and cost

  • Experience working with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, 3D printers, Thermal Chambers, Collimators, Analyzers, etc.).

  • Experience working on NPI and transitioning design to production

  • Experience in aspects of the hardware design and development, including requirements capture and requirements decomposition, determine system budgets, tolerance analysis, test, and requirements validation

  • Experience conducting thermal analysis and optimization

  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis and optimization

  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner and produce detailed, clear and concise technical documentation

  • Ability to work well both independently and within an integrated product development (IPD) team environment

  • Experience with Gimbaled Systems mounted on manned and unmanned aircraft

  • Write component and subsystem test for optical-electro-mechanical system

  • Conduct component and subsystem test

  • Experience managing system interfaces
