Our Mission Systems group has a need for a Intern, Quality Engineering, to work at our Houston, TX location. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Supply Chain Management organization relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data.

  • Be proactively involved in Quality Assurance and process improvement tools and methods.

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and auditing of inspection and test plans, standards, and acceptance criteria, and procedures / work instructions.

  • Participate in the investigation and elimination of causes of quality problems and follow-up on corrective actions.

  • Analyze statistical data and product / process performance to recommend and assist in the implementation of improvements in targeted areas of the organization.

  • Provide support in the way of development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions, and process audits with the objective of improving process performance and capability.

  • Participate in all aspects of product development and launch activities throughout the organization to help ensure quality goals are met on new development programs.

  • Self-motivated with a passion for QA and proven problem-solving ability.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six sigma experience or LEAN, knowledge of Lean Product Development (LPD) and Continuous Improvement (CI) is preferred but not required; including experience working within an environment that embraces the daily use of these Quality Management tools:

  • DFMEA/PFMEA

  • Proven track record of understanding and managing First Article Inspections (FAI) preferred.

  • Experience with QA systems such as AS9100, ISO, Conducting Audits, ability to manage Rejection Tags and Corrective Action is preferred.
