Job Summary:

Automation & System Integration (ASI) department is seeking a Sr Automation Engineer to support the development, implementation, and support of Automated Assembly and Test Equipment in its Factories. This position may require occasional travel (5%) to support off site factories, or vendor locations.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Lead the integration and implementation of new manufacturing automation systems and processes

  • Provide support and sustainment to existing automation systems

  • Determine continuous improvement projects focused on safety and OEE

  • Leading the design, control, and improvement of the manufacturing process through collaboration within a multi-disciplined team

  • Lead corrective action investigations

  • Interact with internal customers

    This position can be a Automation Engineer (P2) or Sr Automation Engineer (P3) based upon the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for the position.

    An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 additional years of experience.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    Automation Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), preferably in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

  • 2 years of related experience for a Automation Engineer (P2)

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Sr Automation Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), preferably in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

  • 5 years of related experience for a Sr. Automation Engineer (P3)

  • Experience with PLC programming/Allen Bradley Studio 5000 tag-based Control Systems

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications We Value:

  • Applied knowledge of Ethernet/IP and Ethernet working

  • Knowledge of various sensor technologies

  • Ability to specify, design, program debug systems for automation equipment

  • Experience with machine vision systems (Fanuc, DVT/Cognex)

  • Experience programming of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI/GUI); (FactoryTalk View, Ignition, etc.)

  • Experience in Robotics programming (Fanuc, ABB etc.)

  • Experience with lean manufacturing and technical writing

  • Strong engineering aptitude, analytical and communication skills

  • Technical problem solving

  • Active DOD Security Clearance

    Working Environments:

    This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending time in and around factory areas.
