The Engineering Excellence Team functions within the larger Engineering, Technology and Mission Assurance (ET&MA) organization. ET&MA is a diverse organization that integrates technology, engineering, operations and performance excellence within the businesses and across Raytheon to enable value creation and Mission Assurance for our customers.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
This position will own university engagement policy and process. This includes the management of engineering - university - global trade compliance and process requirements. This position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the current training and communication resources to ensure understanding and avoid non-compliant engagements. Currently, there are a number of disconnected tools developed to collect data related to university engagements. This role will need to harmonize these tools and move towards one solution that satisfies the data collection needs of Engineering, Supply Chain and Global Trade.
Responsibilities include support and coordination of the university engagement process. Work across functions to ensure compliance with current engineering policy as well as EXIM and Global Trade compliance. Monitor the individual projects with Principal Investigators and provide guidance regarding compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Engage with members of supply chain and contracts in the placement PO's to universities. Evaluate the current suite of training resources and implement a plan to increase awareness across RMD engineering.
Support hiring/retention initiatives through university engagements and alumni communities across engineering. Identify opportunities to bridge university engagements with engineering campus recruiting to increase the alignment of research projects with engineering talent pipeline. Connect with campus manager population to coordinate and facilitate these opportunities.
Work across RMD Engineering to collect and manage the university membership and dues process. Work with leads to help prioritize and develop measurements to better understand individual membership ROI's for engineering. Strive for a fully integrated university engagement approach that encompasses research as well as talent pipeline for engineering.
Improve tooling and training. Consolidate various tracking tools for university engagements, work closely with research leads to build consistency and better serve our engineering population of 15k+. Must be able to influence across multiple functions as well as various levels of the organization. Due to the sensitivity of university engagements as it relates to government compliance this position must have a strong understanding of the process and an appreciation for the need to be detail orientated.
Qualifications You Must Have:
8+ years of experience relating to support and coordination of the university engagement process
Bachelor’s degree (An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional 3 years of experience)
Experience supporting university projects and engagements along with the intern/college recruiting and hiring process
Experience working with leads to help prioritize and develop measurements to better understand individual membership ROI's for engineering
Experience evaluating training resources
