This position is for a lead Engineering Services and Support technician who is under minimal supervision. Performs complex tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. May serve as a resource on varied tasks. Acts as the facility security focal for all government classified security activities.

Working independently, this position is responsible for the planning, scheduling and assisting engineers with administrative, documentation, process, security and general engineering related support activities. Must demonstrate the ability to support several engineers, providing a wide variety of administrative and computer skills to assist engineering projects.

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks. Plans and executes experiments and gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes to support engineering disciplines. Analyzes, maintains, compiles and formats data. Produces drawings, reports and engineering documentation. Performs research and engineering laboratory functions that could involve the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification or electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.

Also performs project non-technical duties. Acts as process and tool expert for engineering design teams. Must possess ability to coordinate and lead activities, as well as strong organization and analytical skills.

Must be able to support onsite work once we return to the site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform the Facility Security Officer (FSO) responsibilities and maintain the Huntsville facility clearance documentation.

  • Acts as liaison between government and company personnel regarding security matters.

  • Train and educate personnel on the importance of secured data, cyber security, counterintelligence and insider threat awareness.

  • Safeguards classified materials and facilitates classified facility visits.

  • Maintains current Key Management Personnel lists

  • Edits format of software/hardware documentation. Interfaces with technicians, engineers and engineering managers to edit/format documentation. Verifies change requests are in the proper state and implement into documentation. Performs data conversion using various application media for software development or project file maintenance.

  • Perform as primary focal point, coordinating, tracking and reporting status for inquiries and problem resolution during the pre-release, release, and revision of development/product related documentation.

  • Provides tools expertise and support to Engineering: Microsoft O365 Apps, requirements capture databases, change management and tracking tools. Generate reports as required.

  • Responsible for ordering and shipping program materials.

  • Supports the Third-Party Intellectual Property process by coordinating the completion of all necessary documentation.

  • Supports preparation of presentations. Supports development of engineering web pages.

  • Collects metrics and prepares presentation materials for analysis.

  • Maintains engineering project schedules.

  • Assists in tracking action items, and tasks in the change management tools.

  • Facilitates the Bid & Proposal process and follows up with bidding engineers in order to meet deadlines.

  • Networks with key contacts outside of own area of expertise. Serves as a liaison between engineering teams, management and the customer.

  • Builds productive working relationships internally and externally on occasion. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation.

  • Generally works on moderately difficult assignments which are given in terms of objectives to be accomplished and priorities to be followed. Requires judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree or other 2-year post high school training with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

  • Experience in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint is required.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty pounds as needed for shipping and receiving responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Jira, Confluence, DOORS, Jama and Subversion desired but not required.
