Raytheon Technologies Market Research Manager in Huntsville, Alabama
The Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) Strategy and Business Transformation team is seeking a Market Research Manager who will be charged with developing, maintaining, and communicating strategic intelligence on RMD customers, competitors, and the overall environment across several market segments. The successful candidate will stay abreast of industry developments, including geopolitical, technical, contracting, and threat news/concepts.
The Market Research Manager will be responsible for cross-functional collaboration across RMD to create data-driven assessments that unpack customer and competitor strategies. Partner across the organization to curate and maintain proprietary market datasets that inform long term strategic planning. The Market Research Manager will also be responsible for competitive benchmarking to help understand RMD’s market position. The position will report to the Sr Manager, Strategic Intelligence and work cross-functionally across RMD to lead strategic analysis efforts.
This position can be located at any RMD facility or be remote within relatively close proximity to an RMD facility.
Develop and maintain detailed strategic competitive intelligence on major customers and competitors
Perform analyses in the areas of product preferences, potentials, sales coverage, market size, penetration, marketing practices, and industry trends
Prepares forecasts and recommendations
Build, vet, and leverage market opportunity datasets for data-driven assessments
Partner with engineering to monitor key technologies across each mission space
Benchmark overall RMD competitiveness across segments, customer values, technology areas, etc.
Partner with RMD Strategy leads to drive and own detailed market assessments for various segments
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or a related subject
At least 10 years of experience with demonstrated progression through increasing levels of responsibility
Experience with primary and secondary research methodologies
Experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience using market, economic, or financial datasets
MBA or advanced degree
Experience with competitive intelligence or strategy consulting
Excellent data visualization and storytelling skills to communicate complex topics
Financial modeling/analysis experience
Proficiency with market research tools
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience working new business captures
PM Level 6 Certification
Excellent executive level communication ability
Experience driving an organization to make challenging decisions
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain higher clearances as needed. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. security clearance within one year of employment.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
