The Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) National Team Engineering is actively seeking a Sr Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
As a Sr Systems Engineer, MBSE , you will participate in a Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) environment to develop system-of-systems requirements via system/component trade studies and analysis.
Additionally, you will analyze and document system of system behaviors to meet emerging needs using MBSE tools and principles.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Developing and maintaining architectural views, interface control documentation, and other supporting engineering products, resulting in publishing change notices to the MDA system specification, driving future system capability.
Providing support analysis to allocate and trace system and element level requirements.
Work as member of a multi-discipline team of 5-8 engineers in the execution of these tasks.
Active Secret is required (Top Secret preferred). Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications You Must Have:
•5+ years’ technical background working in a Systems Engineering team, utilizing MBSE tools and techniques.
• Must possess experience supporting a DoD or commercial program.
Active/Current Secret Clearance is required.
Required Education (including Major):
Degree in an engineering classification (STEM), mathematics or physics; Bachelors of Science, Masters or PhD. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Master's is equal to 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 4 years of experience.
Qualifications We Value:
• Experience using one or more of the following common MBSE tools: DOORS, UNICOM System Architect, Cameo Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, etc.
• Systems engineering experience in one-or-more of BMD systems or capabilities similar to: EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, kill vehicles, missiles/interceptors, threats & countermeasures, target discrimination, or command and control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.).
• Experience with large, complex requirements sets.
• Experience with DOORS System Administration tasks and dxl and/or VBA scripting.
• Ability to think critically and capture concepts in papers, presentations, and discussions
• Possess good communication skills
