Raytheon Technologies Buffer & Polisher 2nd shift in Indianapolis, Indiana

This is 2nd shift, an hourly position with paid shift differential

Performs the following duties, and other required activities as assigned. Must demonstrate competencies necessary to meet business requirements. May perform as a member or leader of a functional and/or cross-functional team.

Buffs items such as accessories, hardware, or fabricated plastic parts with cloth buffing wheel. Removes excess metal and surface defects from such items as hardware, or accessory parts prior to buffering, bluing, or plating, using revolving abrasive wheel or belt. Holds and moves parts against wheel to smooth surfaces, produce specified finish, or cut down plating defects, such as burns or salt deposits, using knowledge of metals and buffering operations. Selects abrasive belt or wheel according to grain size, type of finish specified, product being polished, or amount of metal to be removed, using knowledge of polishing operations and abrasives. Replaces worn buffs and examines part for acceptability of finish.

Required Experience:

Must be able to interpret prints, drawings, process routings, and specifications. Must have experience scuffing and/or blending coatings in preparation for topcoats. Must possess thorough knowledge of the various types of metals for appropriate tool selection and to properly identify reactions to buffering and polishing operations. Must have general knowledge of masking techniques.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Confidential Security Clearance.

Special PPE (Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, etc) , provided by the company, is required for this position.

Required Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.184898
