Raytheon Technologies Buffer & Polisher - 2nd shift in Indianapolis, Indiana
This is 2nd shift and an hourly position with shift differential paid
Performs the following duties, and other required activities as assigned. Must demonstrate competencies necessary to meet business requirements. May perform as a member or leader of a functional and/or cross-functional team.
Deburrs fabricated parts with hand and power tools. May remove excess metal and surface defects fabricated parts and assemblies prior to plating and painting using abrasive wheels and other power and hand tools. Selects abrasive belt or wheel according to grain size, type of finish specified, product being polished, or amount of metal to be removed, using knowledge of polishing operations and abrasives. Examines parts for acceptability of finish, ensuring assemblies meets documentation and engineering drawings.
Required Experience: Must be able to interpret prints, drawings, process routings, and specifications. Must have experience scuffing and/or blending coatings in preparation for topcoats. Must possess thorough knowledge of the various types of metals for appropriate tool selection and to properly identify reactions to buffering and polishing operations. Must have general knowledge of masking techniques.
Special PPE (Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, etc.), provided by the company is required for this position
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Confidential Security Clearance.
Required education: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
