Raytheon Technologies Technical Support Engr II in Indianapolis, Indiana

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a successful candidate to perform the following duties and activities as assigned:

  • Must demonstrate competencies necessary to meet the business requirements.

  • Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments

  • Sets objectives for own job area to meet the objectives or goals of projects and assignments.

  • Reviews design documentation for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensures manufacturing activities meets all engineering and print requirements.

  • Provides technical advice to resolve difficult test and integration problems.

  • Communicates within and outside of own job function (e.g. Engineering, Mission Assurance, customers, vendors, etc.).

  • Responsible for identifying opportunities and implementing changes to improve manufacturing processes or products or to reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.

  • Requires designing and documenting manufacturing assembly and test procedures to meet print and engineering requirements.

  • Performs capability assessments and determines manufacturing labor standards and requirements.

  • Challenges existing practices and believes that processes can and should be improved.

  • Prioritize efforts with plant leadership team to focus on those projects that deliver the most value to the plant team and production lines.

  • Create and implement standard work.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for system and process improvements through use of R6s tools.

  • Facilitates and drives change leveraging interpersonal, professional, and collaborative skills.


  • 2+ years of prior relevant experience (or applicable Master Degree)

  • Knowledge and ability to develop manufacturing processes

  • Ability to ensure drawing and quality requirements are met

  • Understanding of Model Based Definition / Solid Modeling

  • Active listening skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain DOD security clearance (as required).

    Desired Experience, Knowledge, and/or Skills:

  • Ability to specify, prepare and perform electronic and mechanical manufacturing assembly and test procedures.

  • Familiar with checking completed layouts and drawings for clarity and accuracy, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures and specifications.

  • Ability to lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams focused on resolving design, process, and product development issues.

  • Experience with/understanding of IPC J-STD -001, IPC-620, and AS9100 / ISO 9001.

  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Previous experience with/understanding of PC board fabrication (Wave Solder, SMT, Through Hole, Screen and Reflow processes, etc.).

  • Ability to work at all levels using a “hands on” approach to create value and buy in.

  • Provide leadership / mentoring / training to project teams on the use of improvement tools.

  • Accountable for delivering results.

    Required Education:

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or other applicable degree
