This position is for a highly motivated, self-managing mid-level EH&S professional. Manages EH&S plans and procedures across multiple EH&S specialties, including Health/Safety and Environmental/Compliance. Analyzes facility and employee practice issues for opportunities to apply EH&S procedures to solve problems or improve EH&S policy effectiveness.
Manages relationships across other specialized departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S regulations and UTC requirements.
Provides advice, support, and technical guidance to the EH&S Manager regarding safety opportunities on the production floor.
Organizes and maintains EH&S policies to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations.
Maintains constant awareness of changing regulations, ensuring the company’s Environment, Health and Safety policies and training are aligned with current laws and industry standards.
Acts as a partner in EH&S by formulating and administering EH&S plans and procedures including EH&S Program Management.
Has responsibility for multiple EH&S specialties.
Responds to onsite medical incidents.
Manages, implements and supports all S&H programs, including Training and OSHA regulations, implementation of Company S&H Policies, Accident Investigation/Reporting and Regulatory Compliance programs.
Works closely with EHS Manager to ensure a team approach is used to effectively monitor all EHS activities.
Manages the industrial hygiene management program with the assistance of the EHS Manager.
Comfortable working on the manufacturing floor environment and works independently with minimal supervision.
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
EH&S experience developing and implementing industry leading Safety and Health Program
Mentoring and training experience
Familiar with federal, state and local S&H regulations and the regulatory agencies governing the assigned facilities
Experience in a manufacturing or related industry
Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Leading programs from start to finish
Communicating and influencing skills from Senior Management to plant level employees
Forming, facilitating and maintaining internal and cross functional teams and relationships
Managing multiple projects
Industrial hygiene programs
Current RCRA Hazardous Waste Management certification as per 40 CFR 262.16 and 262.17
US DOT HAZMAT Ground Shipper
First Aid, CPR, Blood borne Pathogens
Environmental program management, i.e. TSCA
