Senior Operations Manager is a highly motivated, people leader responsible for the operational performance of the Blount Island operations totaling $25M in sales, and will be responsible for 80 employees. This individual reports to the General Manager who is accountable for the business performance of the Naval value management stream within the Aerostructures SBU. A successful Senior Operations Manager will leverage their leadership and experience to ensure the operations team is aligned on goals to meet operational commitments. In this role, you will be responsible for production, quality, manufacturing engineering, materials, lean, and facilities maintenance for the site. Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for achieving the financial requirements of the value stream by way out operational output (sales), margin performance and overhead budget (profit) and on time delivery (cash).
Ensures all quality related items for the unit or shift are complete and documented so that established quality standards are met. Ensures that all non-conforming product has the appropriate RCCA to ensure tactical completion per the customer schedule and will not repeat in the future.
Ensures that all technical issues are resolved according to engineering specifications, and that standard work documents are being utilized and maintained.
Ensures that material is being planned and requisitioned to meet the production schedule. Also ensures that inventory is accurately maintained and issued, and that variances are properly managed.
Leads the implementation of lean manufacturing principles across the work cells to ensure visual management, standard work, 5S, and layout flow and linkage.
Manages the operational team’s macro plan that plans and manages the key actions that need to happen during the fiscal year to meet the team’s operational goals and commitments.

Leads cost reduction efforts and process improvements for the unit or shift to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
Leads scheduling for the unit or shift to ensure that operations run according to established production schedules.
Leads the sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, for the unit or shift to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources.
Heads materials and logistics problem resolution for the unit or shift to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
Establishes performance objectives and leads cell performance and productivity.
Leads production innovation, including additive manufacturing, for the unit or shift to enhance production capabilities.
Partners with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of services.
Responsible for all or a major portion of processing operations within the plant.
Oversees production operations (shop floor management, workforce management, and flow disruption management), maintenance, plant engineering, scheduling and personnel.
Manages and supervises the work of manufacturing production disciplines in the Operations function.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required or Business degree and relevant technical work experience
Six (6) years Operations experience with three (3) years in a leadership role
Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills across the organization, working level and executive
Results oriented, with a strong bias for action
Ability to recruit, develop and motivate personnel to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth
Participative management philosophy that leads by example
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate, influence and lead across departments and functions
Skilled at building effective teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in science or business
Chemical processing, machining, metal fabrication or composites manufacturing experience
Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) experience
Demonstrated experience implementing world class manufacturing techniques
Certified in Lean manufacturing or Six-Sigma
Demonstrated ability to establish and mature a Continuous Improvement culture
Experience with single piece flow in a mixed model production environment
Demonstrated experience with new program introductions
