Raytheon Technologies Principal Electrical Engineer in Largo, Florida

Job Description:

This opening is to fill a position within the Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) division Hardware Engineering Production Engineering group. A person in this role will serve as an integrated product team lead and the principal investigator for production, material and test issues related to products comprised of multiple integrated digital and analog/RF CCAs. The person must have extensive technical expertise in the design and production of circuit cards and have demonstrated engineering leadership skills. An effective candidate is one who can participate in a multi-disciplined team and properly apply engineering tools and processes. Likewise, an effective candidate must be able to collaborate and coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Mission Assurance, and other engineering disciplines to resolve issues that may arise during production, testing, and integration.

Specific duties will include:

• Lead and support root cause corrective action investigations in the factory, at suppliers, and design sites

• Communicate technical status and performance to Hardware Lead, Chief Engineer, and product area leadership

• Analyze, problem solve, and multi-task to meet deadlines working in a team environment with multiple disciplines

• Perform design and supplier trade studies

• Evaluate and update specifications for the hardware

• Generate and release of a technical documentation for components and subassemblies

• Represent manufacturing in critical design reviews to ensure design performance and margin

• Establish production test plan and perform test coverage analysis

• Integration and test activities in a hardware/software laboratory and production environment

• Lead and/or support transition of programs from a design phase into production

• Support of configuration control and membership on Configuration Control Board (CCB)

• Supplier technical support and issue resolution

• Obsolescence review, resolution, and design refresh

• Identify and manage risks and opportunities

• Occasional travel

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience (design or manufacturing support

  • Proven design and/or analysis skills in communications, electronic warfare, or other closely related systems experience

  • Experience in program transition and follow through to production

  • Excellent written & verbal communications skills; technical writing

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required

    Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering

  • 12+ years of related experience, including technical leadership

  • Extensive experience in transitioning designs into production and performance optimization in production phase

  • Active Secret clearance

    Education (including Major):

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited program

    This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
