Job Description:

We have career growth opportunities for Test Development Engineers to join our diverse team supporting Integrated Communication Systems (ICS) Test Automation in direct support of the Largo Consolidated Manufacturing Center in Largo, FL.

The Test Automation Department (TAD) is responsible for the design and development of test equipment hardware and software for a wide range of products and customers. The Largo Test Automation section within TAD is a growing and highly motivated team who consistently provides quality on-time on-cost solutions to support external and internal customers seeking innovative and economical solutions for their product lines. Being located at Largo CMC the section also supports change incorporation, advanced troubleshooting, and obsolescence redesign efforts of various legacy systems in direct support of production capabilities. Position has potential domestic travel up to 10% in support of development activities.

Primary responsibility will be to develop test software to exercise and analyze deliverable product. Other responsibilities are to support conceptual and detailed design of test positions and test adapters as well as integration and post-delivery support of these test systems. Candidate will be expected to follow established procedures and instructions (IPDS and the One-page processes) while working closely with program / functional / factory supervision to ensure the overall design objectives are met. Candidate must be able to support cradle to grave efforts including proposal generation, conceptual modeling, detailed design, integration, and verification activities. The candidate will typically be the primary and often sole developer for the entire development cycle.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 6 years of test software development with emphasis in automated test systems; and experience with National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand software with knowledge of other programming languages (C, C++, C#)

• Some experience with digital and/or RF test equipment using COTS components to deliver test equipment solutions

• Development and integration of software drivers for the operation of computer hardware interfaces; and common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as SCPI, TCP/IP, UDP, and Serial Communication

• Microsoft Windows environment experience and familiarity from NT to Windows 10

• Experience with common laboratory/manufacturing test instrumentation and electronics (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies etc.)

• Experience with modular instrument platforms such as PXI

• Proven experience developing effective solutions and demonstrating intermediate/advanced troubleshooting skills of computer systems, units under test, and custom hardware designs

• MUST be a U.S. Citizen with Active DoD Secret clearance

• Professional engineering experience working within a team environment

• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to prioritize and adapt to sudden changes to priorities

• Knowledge of Configuration Management principles, environments, and tools

• Experience building strong relationships and effectively collaborating with distributed teams across multiple sites

• Experience working and communicating with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team

• Production environment experience is preferred

• Knowledge and experience with Presidio/ITAS test automation system

• Mechanical design concepts

• Working knowledge of Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and other novel electronics platform

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a related STEM discipline

• BS and 6 years of experience, MS and 4 years of experience, PhD and 2 years of experience.

Desired Education:

• Master's degree in related STEM discipline

• Bachelor’s Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) dual/double major
