Perform as the Quality engineer representing Pratt & Whitney.
Responsible to ensure adherence to the Quality Management Systems.
Coordinates and participates in Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) initiatives.
Lead and assist with Quality initiatives to continually improve performance and reduce escapes
Support, direct, and train Inspection personnel.
Review, investigate and make dispositions of parts or materials placed on Quality Review due to deviations from engineering specifications.
Review and interpret applicable engineering detail and assembly drawings, engine manuals, clearance charts, engineering changes, and specifications to determine the severity of the material deviations.
Make dispositions of parts and materials based on evaluation of technical requirements and end use.
As required, develop and write rework & repair techniques that return parts to an acceptable condition.
Evaluate Quality Notifications and related documentation for accuracy and completeness as received from both internal and external sources. Provide the necessary controls for storage and control of nonconforming material.
Perform JC&L2 ITC classifications as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Assists in the oversight of the 3PL operations to ensure compliance to PWQMS.
Conduct Internal Audits as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Minimum of Associates degree required.
Must have prior Quality Engineering experience, 2+ years desired.
Possess a strong understanding of effective Quality systems and methodologies and their impact on both the internal and external business environments.
Must have minimum 2 years detail part inspection experience
Must have excellent Organizational Skills and ability to work independently.
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, must have demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the organization.
Computer skills - Proficient in Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Project.
US Citizenship is required for this position.
NOTE: this position may require swing-shift coverage
Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Associate level or Lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma green belt or CORE experience preferred
Although not currently required, candidate must possess willingness to become FAA ODA UM Certified.
Experience with SAP and other IT Quality systems
