An exciting opportunity exists within the Raytheon Australia’s Engineering and Technology team. Reporting to the Technical Workforce Engineering Director, the Principal Engineering Officer (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects) is responsible for expert support across the company on matters of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) and the effective conduct of E3 management programs across the company.
In this role you will contribute to overall business performance by helping define and implement EMI/EMC requirements, performing system level design for E3 compliance (grounding/isolation, electrical bonding, filtering and shielding), performing analysis, simulation and modelling of high frequency radiation hazards, coupling mechanisms, and shielding integrity, supporting E3 testing and generating E3 control plans, test guidelines, procedures and reports. This position involves working within a team environment providing design support from requirements definition through integration and test.
Identify relevant standards to be applied / used for Electromagnetic Environmental Effects management.
Develop the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects content of the Engineering Management Plans / Systems Engineering Management Plans.
Manage the execution of the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects activities defined in program Engineering Management Plans / Systems Engineering Management Plans.
Generate artefacts required to execute the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects activities defined in program Engineering Management Plans / Systems Engineering Management Plans.
Act as an independent reviewer of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects aspects of plans, designs, test regimes, and activities.
Develop and deliver internal Electromagnetic Environmental Effects related training and mentor personnel.
Provide advice on Electromagnetic Environmental Effects testing and develop and maintain relationships with appropriate external organisations in relation to Electromagnetic Environmental Effects matters such as universities, professional bodies, industry working groups, and accredited testing organisations.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
A Certificate III and a Diploma in Engineering in a relevant field with a minimum of 12 years relevant post-qualification experience and an advanced knowledge of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects standards and their application.
Experience in equipment-level electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and certification.
Experience in coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower level professionals.
Ability to influence program team members to ensure compliance with the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects program.
Organisational awareness with the ability to work within a complex stakeholder / relationship model.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to appropriately prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines and follow through on all assigned tasks to ensure timely completion.
