The Mechanical Products Team leads the mechanical design, development and integration of sensors and platform systems. This includes systems cabling & interconnections across all platforms. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise in interconnect design, supplier engineering support, TDP creation and cable modeling. The Mechanical Products Team uses state-of-the-art tools, processes technology and Six Sigma principles.
The Tactical Radar Products Department is seeking a professional candidate for a Senior Mechanical Engineer II to work within the Sensors Interconnection section.
The Sensors Interconnection section performs preliminary cable and interconnect design, detailed design, release to production, and assembly & onsite support across multiple product lines.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Use preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate 3-D design models and/or conceptual layouts
Executing the detail design, working with design leads, or leading the completion of the Technical Data Packages (TDP) for mechanical subsystems.
Working within a team environment to develop innovative cable and interconnect designs for subsystems
Experienced with solid modeling practices and drawing creation using CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Solidworks, or equivalent.
General knowledge of fabrication processes, capabilities and limitations of harnessing, cabling, connectors, and backshells
Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters requiring coordination between organizations
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related Applied Sciences field
6 years of engineering experience (MS degree and 2 years or Ph.D. with academic experience)
6 years of systems, software, hardware and/or mechanical engineering experience
Experience in developing cabling and interconnect documentation using CAD software
Experience with mechanical design , interconnect applications and component parts, major suppliers, and fabrication processes
Experience with Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with manufacturing in the interconnect domain
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
Experience with Creo Parametric CAD tool
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience with Windchill 10.0 PDM link or an equivalent configuration management system
Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000, ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.100
Collaborate in a team environment whether in office or working from home.
Self-motivated with strong organization skills
Experience with reading military specifications and how to navigate in them
Experience with Creo Schematic tool
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, interconnection diagrams and complex wiring documents
This position is located in Marlborough, MA.
Position can be remote during the COVID pandemic, and will report onsite at a future, undetermined date.
