Raytheon Technologies Sr Tech Support Engineer II - Power & Electronic Systems in Marlborough, Massachusetts
Raytheon is seeking an electronics technician to build, test, document, and troubleshoot analog and power electronics. The hardware types perform a variety of functions with applications ranging from low power to high voltage and high current. Specific tasks may include hands-on fabrication of prototype hardware, use of electrical test equipment, and schematic capture. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and committed to developing advanced knowledge and skills related to analog electronics. This role can be a G08 or a G09 depending on experience level/qualifications.
The Power and Electronic Systems Department (PESD) is responsible for design engineering including the following areas:
Power System Design - Power System Noise, System Simulation and Modeling, Solid State Transmitters, Tube Transmitters, High Voltage Design, Power Sources, Generators
Power Conversion - AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise Controls
Power Distribution - Ground, Air, Shipboard, and Space, Power Generation, Line Voltage, High Current, Low Voltage, Micro-Power, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant Systems
Power Sub-System Design - Filters, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetics, Protective Relay Systems, Short Circuit and Stress Analyses
Control Systems – Servo Control Systems, Motor/Power/Process Control, Digital Feedback Systems, Command Generation, Inertial Stabilization, Navigation Algorithms
- Requires a related University Degree - or - equivalent experience and minimum of 6+ years of prior relevant experience
4+ years of experience in electronics hardware fabrication, bread-boarding, test, troubleshooting, and/or technical documentation
Basic knowledge of analog electronics
Experience using test equipment to verify the performance of electronics
Ability to solder electronics and fabricate electrical hardware
Excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively as part of a larger team
Ability and flexibility to travel as needed (CONUS and/or OCONUS)
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Hands-on experience with high voltage or high current electronics
Knowledge of Mentor Graphics, Creo Schematics, or related schematic capture/board layout tools
Ability to write detailed test reports
Experience in a DoD environment
Active DoD Secret Clearance
