The Systems Engineer (network engineer focus) will provide networking Subject Matter Expertise in support of the Navy’s newest surface combatant Radar and Combat System integration at the Navy’s Land Based integration facility. The SPY-6 radar is a high performance, complex shipboard S-band AESA radar system being integrated with the Navy’s newest Aegis Combat System Baseline. The role involves working collaboratively with other SMEs and team members under the direction of the group lead.
This Systems Engineer role is based out of Massachusetts (Tewksbury or Marlborough), but will require at least 50% travel to one of our remote radar site locations or shipyards across the United States. Local travel will be required between Raytheon facilities in the Northeast. While supporting the radar sites, the role may require the employee to support off-shift and extended hours.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
In support of Radar and Combat System integration and testing, the Systems Engineer will:
Support the hardware configuration of test equipment and tactical hardware
Work with SPY-6 network and system SMEs to evaluate network performance and recommend improvements for optimization
Perform integration and test activities in house or at site locations (at least 50% domestic travel will be required)
Execute multiple tasks at multiple sites including off-site and in-house locations
Report task status to program and/or site leadership
Qualification You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
Relevant experience includes: network hardware and architecture maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting; network accessibility and connectivity, security protocols; network management and automation
IT network skill and experience consistent with CompTIA Network+ Certification or Cisco CCNA, including: Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols, multicast traffic, routing and switching, network attached storage devices, and network security
Experience configuring network devices using Dell OS9 or Cisco IOS command line
Experience with perimeter firewall roles and operations
Experience with LINUX/UNIX and Red Hat® Linux systems
Ability to obtain a security clearance; only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Willingness to travel to off-site locations to support integration and test activities
Qualifications We Value:
Experience with Dell, Cisco and Mellanox infiniband switches
Experience working in a classified environment
CompTIA – Network+ Certification
IAT Level II Certification
Experience with NSA Encryptors
Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) security standards, ACAS scanning, STIGs
Experience with Cyber mitigation (Application Whitelisting, ACLs, RBAC)
Experience with Radius, IdM (Identity Management)
Experience with ForcePoint Next Gen firewall config and management
Experience with Luks encryption
Experience with System monitoring software, preferably OpManager
Experience with NetApp configuration, management and troubleshooting
Experience with DDS communications
Master's Degree in Information Technologies, Computer/Network Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline
Willingness to support long term assignment at customer site, up to 1 year in duration
