Raytheon Technologies Electronic Test Technician in McKinney, Texas
Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required
Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) is looking to staff an Electronic Test Technician position located in McKinney, TX.
The effective candidate will perform a wide variety of technical tasks in support of processes, engineering, quality control, calibration, laboratories, production/test environment, line maintenance, and/or chemical handling.
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Tests, troubleshoots, repairs, maintains and installs a variety of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical, computer, laboratory and scientific systems and/or equipment.
May assist in the development of procedures.
Selects, sets up and operates engineering and scientific test equipment for test and integration and other production support of digital and analog circuitry, radio frequency modules, and circuit card assemblies
Observes, analyzes and reports test data; and when appropriate makes necessary repairs to equipment
Utilizes various engineering and scientific drawings, manuals and other related documentation in the performance of their tasks.
Work with both program-unique and commercial test equipment for digital, analog and radio frequency testing.
Checks for correctness of work.
Candidate must be able to clearly communicate their activities to team members, supervision, and program management.
U.S. Citizenship required as the candidate must have an Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance day one of employment.
Required Skills
Minimum 6 years’ experience in electronics industry or equivalent military electronics experience
Extensive knowledge of radio frequency/microwave test methodology and measurement error reduction techniques.
Familiar with radio frequency /microwave measurement techniques using spectrum analyzers, scalar/vector network analyzers, power meters, signal generators, etc.
Familiar with digital and analog test equipment, such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
Ability to lift up to 25lbs
Ability to work literally from approved procedures, schematics, and verbal instructions
Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits to component level and effectively identify failure trends
Ability to isolate problems between the test environment (test station, interface adapter, test cables, etc.) and the units under test and resolve as necessary
Select appropriate test equipment and configure it based on test specification
Ability to communicate technical issues by generating comprehensive failure entries which correlate failure modes back to the associated test specifications
Ability to interpret test data (plots, graphs, tabulated parameters, etc.) to choose pass/fail condition and resolve when further analysis is needed
Ability to operate temperature cycling ovens, burn-in equipment, leak check equipment
Ability to plan and maintain test schedules in a teaming environment simultaneously for multiple projects.
Ability to work in an enthusiastic manufacturing/production test/environmental test environment.
Ability to work autonomously and guide priorities on multiple tasks
Experienced in the use of computers and software applications (both desktop and technical)
Must be versed in computer architectures and data protocols in order to facilitate networking/interfacing with other test equipment
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired Skills
Direct experience with Radar System and subsystem (Transmitter, Receiver, Antenna, Signal/Data Processor, Power Supply, etc.) test and evaluation
Previous Production, testing, troubleshooting and depot experience
Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) programming experience
Analog test and Digital Signal Processor experience
Basic programming skills
Required Education
- Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or equivalent, and/or Military Electronics training
Desired Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Radio Frequency Engineering
