Engineering Fellow – Low Observable Antenna Design
Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RIS) has an exciting career opportunity for a Low Observable (LO) Engineering Fellow to join our Specialty Apertures and Radomes Section in the Antenna Products Department. Raytheon Engineering Fellows are respected and innovative leaders in their field with visibility and impact across the RI&S Business Unit. This position will be located in McKinney, TX and will support a diverse portfolio of internally and externally funded research and technology development activities.
The successful candidate will have significant expertise in Stealth or Low Observable (LO) antennas and RF design, LO hardware integration and associated technologies, as well as proven leadership skills to effectively lead multi-disciplinary teams in proposals and program execution. The candidate will have a solid foundation in antenna LO engineering with an in-depth understanding of antenna theory, phased arrays, antenna requirement evaluation and simulation, RF hardware prototyping/fabrication as well as associated best practice tools and processes.
As a Fellow, the candidate will work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious while working across multiple Product Lines and Business Units. Additionally, the Fellow will mentor and guide more junior engineers in the design, build and test of LO antennas. Candidates should be experts in the design and analysis LO antennas and arrays.
Required Skills :
Minimum 12 years of engineering experience which must include Low Observable technology
Experience with Radar Cross Section (RCS) reduction of radomes and antennas
Experience performing RCS measurement/test, prediction and/or design
Understanding of typical RF materials, modeling and use in LO applications
Solid understanding of antennas, phased arrays and LO engineering principles
Experience with at least one full-wave analysis code such as HFSS, Xpatch, SENTRi, CARLOS3D, RAMD2D, CST
A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance or higher is required to start, with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
16+ years of related work experience in LO antenna design
RCS data processing tools such as Knowbell and Pioneer
Excellent communication skills, as the position requires interfacing with internal and external customers to report technical and scheduling status
Experience writing proposals including developing a technical solution, identifying risks and opportunities, and writing both technical and cost volumes
Experience running successful development efforts to develop survivable components and technology that includes budget and schedule management, tasking, and review of technical products.
A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance with current or previous Special Program Access (PAR / SAP).
Required Education :
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Desired Education :
Masters or PhD. In Electrical Engineering
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
