Raytheon Technologies Operations Director for the McKinney Consolidated Manufacturing Center (CMC) in McKinney, Texas

Raytheon Technologies Intelligence and Space (RIS) is seeking a qualified professional to execute in the highly visible role of Operations Director for the McKinney Consolidated Manufacturing Center (CMC).

The successful candidate will ensure that functional and factory areas are adequately executing strategies to meet cost, quality, and schedule requirements while focusing on profitability, improved ROI and sustained growth.

The candidate will work closely with engineering expertise and program leadership to provide innovative manufacturing solutions and ensure execution and compliance with Operations policies, practices, processes, procedures.

The position is responsible for coordinating manufacturing efforts with multiple functions, programs and make centers (Engineering, SCM, program management, Operations, Contracts, Property, Finance and Mission Assurance) to achieve business objectives through all phases of the life cycle (proposal through execution and close-out).

The Operations Director will lead the McKinney CMC in the design and development of manufacturing systems, and produce of state-of-the-art products that provide a competitive advantage for Raytheon.

The Operations Director will leverage strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills and must have the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as with senior management. In addition, the Operations Manager should possess the fundamental knowledge, experience, skills and behaviors associated with successfully executing highly complex, high reliability projects or programs on cost and schedule.

A thorough understanding of proposal development, schedule development, Earned Value Management, procurement, build processes, review processes, as well as basic knowledge of the relevant tool sets are highly desired.

This position reports to the Central Region Director of Manufacturing and Depot for RIS, who oversees a team of approximately 600 employees.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for successful operation and manufacturing output of the McKinney, Texas site

Provide leadership, management and direction of matrixed functional organizations and staff

Partner with SAS and Raytheon Mission Area / Program / Product Line Directors, and Program Managers to develop program plans to meet program contract delivery requirements

Partner with SAS and Raytheon Mission Area / Program / Product Line Vice Presidents, Directors and Program Managers to develop program bid & proposal, capture and growth plans to drive and meet SAS booking and sales growth targets

Required Skills:

Minimum of 14 years of operations management, manufacturing engineering management, or related experience

Experience in developing and executing manufacturing strategies for a variety of products (electro optical, infrared, CCAs, opto-mechanical)

Ability to collaborate daily with a cross-functional teams in a fast paced, robust matrixed environment.

Ability to synthesize large amounts of data from disparate sources to convey program and functional health

Demonstrated initiative, persistence and creativity in problem solving

Thorough understanding of configuration management and engineering change processes

Experience with proposal processes (Top-down and bottoms-up methodology, learning curves, capacity analysis, etc.)

Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

Existing Secret level Clearance with ability to obtain

TS and/or SSBI Clearance within the required timeframe (product line dependent)

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:

Active DOD Top Secret or SSBI

Knowledge of Defense Industry Acquisition and Manufacturing Readiness Assessments / Levels (MRA/MRL)

EVMS and Program Management training and/or Certification

Visiprise Manufacturing System (VM) knowledge / PRISM knowledge / APEX knowledge

Familiarity with Raytheon processes (Contract Quality Requirements (CQR), Material Review Board (MRB), Failure Review Board (FRB), Integrated Product Development System (IPDS), SAS Management System (MS), etc.)

Knowledge of manufacturing and test processes for electronics (RF & Digital), opto-mechanical, airborne, radar and space products.

Knowledge of depot processes for electronics (RF & Digital), opto-mechanical, airborne, radar and space products.

Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) Experience

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) in Manufacturing, Engineering or related field

This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
