We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer with Electro-optical and Electro Mechanical experience to be an important participant on the mechanical integrated product team (IPT). The team provides much-valued Multi-Spectral Targeting System (MTS) experience that develops a state-of-the-art sensor for a mission of vital importance to our nation. As a leading provider of integrated sensor, communication and electronic warfare systems, you will be giving military forces accurate and timely actionable information for the network-centric battlefield. Responsibilities include:

• Designing new components and assemblies for optomechanical and electromechanical systems

• Performing requirements analysis/definition to ensure system will meet all customer requirements

• Completing Tolerance Analysis of complex mechanical and optical systems

• Mechanical analysis of components and systems using common FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software such as ANSYS Workbench or Abaqus

• Participating in design reviews, peer reviews and customer review meetings

• Interacting with engineers from other disciplines, such as Systems and Electrical Engineering, to obtain pertinent information required to accomplish tasks

• Leading and mentoring technical teams

Clearance Requirements:

•The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Work Location:

•McKinney, TX

Required Skills:

• 8 years of related work experience

• Experience supporting and developing real-time embedded software

• Experience with new product development from idea to manufacture

• Experience optics and/or optomechanical systems

• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software

• Experience with CAD Software such as CREO (SW name), Solidworks or Inventor

• Knowledge of high precision manufacturing processes

• Experience creating drawings and incorporating GD (Geometric Dimensioning) & Tolerancing

• Agility to support overtime needs for critical program events

• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with internal and external customers

Desired Skills:

• An active and in-scope Secret U.S. security clearance

• Expertise with Airborne optical systems

• Expertise in dynamic analysis methods such as random vibration or harmonic response

• Experience with investment castings for complex systems

• Experience with electromechanical systems that incorporate voice coil actuators

Required Education:

8 years of relevant experience and a BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM); or 6 years of relevant experience and a MS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
