Raytheon Technologies RI&S Digital Technology (DT) Program Solutions and Services Fellow in McKinney, Texas
As the Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) DT Program Solutions and Services (PSS) Fellow, you will be responsible for leading the cloud-centric, multi-discipline architecture, strategy, and engagement related to DT’s support of RI&S programs, pursuits, and research activities. The DT Fellow will also provide technical and architectural oversight of the PSS portfolio of DT managed services, with particular emphasis on mission-related cloud services, engineering solutions/toolchain capabilities, and classified service environments across multiple domains.
The successful candidate will seamlessly collaborate and partner with a diverse cross-section of functions including Digital Technology, Engineering, and Product Lines (PL). These partnerships will be across multiple levels of stakeholders including senior DT leadership (VP’s, Directors), PL TDs / Chief Engineers (CEs) / Chief Architects (CAs), Program Managers, and program technical leadership (CEs, CAs). The DT Fellow will also be capable of proactively eliciting stakeholder requirements and use cases, and drive generation of transformational, cloud-centric DT solutions and services across multiple disciplines such as Agile / DevSecOps, Model Based Engineering (MBE) / Digital Engineering (DE), and Product Lifecycle Digital Thread / Digital Twin.
The qualified candidate must be a highly respected individual in the Engineering / Digital Technology / Information Technology community, with a successful track record of innovation and technical leadership. The candidate should have an excellent working knowledge and program based application of architecture principles, cloud-native best practices, product development processes, and technology standardization approaches. This candidate must be be able to develop and guide adoption / migration strategies and roadmaps for technology insertion across the RI&S DT portfolio of products, services, and capabilities.
Specific responsibilities include:
Lead the evolution of a cloud services technology framework and provide related enterprise architecture leadership in support of internal/external customers’ business needs. This includes distillation of cloud-centric use cases and enabling technical requirements, and providing technical oversight of the corresponding implementation in AWS, Azure or Hybrid cloud environments.
Build relationships (both internal to RI&S and external within USG) with senior technology and engineering leaders to define, develop and deliver integrated DT solutions and services across multiple classification domains.
Build and strengthen the reputation/brand of RI&S DT products, services, and capabilities with the engineering councils and business engineering senior leaders.
Lead and/or provide oversight of architectural trade studies to support PSS’ strategy and roadmap(s).
Engage with other DT/Engineering Fellows and technical leaders of technology frameworks to ensure PSS’ portfolio of products, services, and capabilities are well rounded and fully integrated across the Information Technology (IT) domain.
Engage early with key pursuits to help formulate the strategy for program win by inserting the latest automation technologies and solutions.
Help lead RI&S’ technology standardization activities through collaborative and proactive engagement with RI&S DT / Engineering peers.
Participate in (and lead where appropriate) corporate engineering and enterprise services improvement initiatives.
Lead technical reviews, participate in technical interchange meetings, support management reviews, and communicate technical status to internal and external stakeholders for projects involving the development of new RI&S DT products, services, and capabilities.
Assume the SAFe System Architect role in support of the PSS' Engineering Solutions team.
Identify, document, and champion automation best practices and improvements which help RI&S Engineers and PSS staff be more productive.
Help build and develop the DT Fellow pipeline by providing guidance, coaching / mentoring, and training to other employees (including help build architecture skills with mentees)
Typically requires 12 years related architecture experience and demonstrated expertise applying industry architecture frameworks, i.e., TOGAF, DoDAF
Typically requires 12+ years of experience in roles of increasing technical leadership in two or more engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, and Software Engineering.)
Typically requires 5+ years of customer engagement/relationship experience or prior consulting experience.
Expert level experience with cloud-native architectural principals and best practices
Experience with containerization concepts and industry standard technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience in the application of engineering tools/solutions in three or more of the following Systems and Software Engineering capability areas: Requirements Management, IV&V, Architecture/Modeling, Math & Analysis, Modeling & Simulation, Specialty engineering, Integrated Software Development Design, Configuration Management, & Advanced Analysis & Test.
Experience with Agile, DevOps, and Model Based Engineering practices, tools, and methods (either on a program or enterprise initiative)
Experience working in a multi-site Enterprise environment including facilitating cross organizational solutions in response to diverse objectives.
Self-directed with demonstrated ability to organize and provide technical leadership for a diverse (both geographic and technical) team.
Team building and motivational skills; able to develop and maintain working relationships at all levels of the organization – including customer, program, and internal stakeholders.
Excellent written and oral communications skills including presentation and negotiation skills, preparing management level briefings and summary explanations.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems; Ability to obtain Secret clearance and possibly additionally SAP (Special Access Program) and/or SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) clearances.
10+ years of Program experience in roles of increasing technical leadership and responsibility; served as the IPT lead or chief engineer for two or more disciplines.
Raytheon Certified Architect or Open Group Master Certified Architect
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Professional level AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) and/or equivalent Microsoft Azure / Google Cloud Platform certifications
Knowledge and application of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), ideally with proven delivery of IT solutions using SAFe
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or related technical discipline.
