Raytheon Technologies Senior Design Checking Engineer I in McKinney, Texas
Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) is seeking a Senior Design Checking Engineer to join the Electro-Optical Mechanical Department Check group.
Candidate will examine engineering drawings and related documents for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design; completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy; correctness of materials and processes; conformity to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and practicability; and economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation.
May refer to established precedents and policies.
Work will be reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting Program objectives.
Candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks in support of the engineering and manufacturing organizations.

The ability to adapt to different program documentation release process flows towards meeting program drawing release objectives
Mechanical checking and design experience in areas such as electrical and mechanical packaging, harnessing, structures, surfacing and mechanisms
Applied knowledge of documentation specifications such as MIL-DTL-31000 and the ASME Y14 Series standards related to design and preparation of technical data packages
Understanding and application of principles, practices and standards for creation and preparation of engineering design documentation
Applied knowledge of industry practices and standards and able to identify and correct design, drawing errors, omissions, deficiencies and recommend either corrective actions or improvements or both
Technical knowledge sufficient to perform complex tasks such as preparation of tabulated details, large assemblies, castings and other preforms, interface control drawings, modification and retrofit installation drawings and various layouts for design concepts
Applied work experience with the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing form controls in accordance with ASME Y14.5M or ANSI Y14.5M
Applied work experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat efficiently
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Background in manufacturing methods/processes and assembly fixtures and gages design
Applied work experience using PTC Creo, other CAD tools such as Solid Works, Catia, Siemens NX
Applied work experience using Common PDM or Windchill
Knowledge of Raytheon Technologies Engineering Documentation Standards (EDS), Mechanical Engineering Process for documentation checking
Existing Secret clearance or SSBI
Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years’ work experience
Associate’s Degree in technical field with 8+ years’ work experience
High School diploma or equivalent with 12+ years’ work experience
Computer Aided Drafting & Design related degree or better
