Raytheon Technologies Sr. Embedded Software Engineer in McKinney, Texas
High Energy Laser (HEL) Software Engineering has an immediate opportunity for an embedded systems software engineer with experience in an Agile-driven team. The embedded software engineer will aid in the development and implementation of mission-critical embedded software, on state-of-the-art hardware and sensor systems, bringing next generation HEL solutions to battlefield. Focus will be on real-time linux and vxworks operating systems using C++ and Ada, respectively.
Participate in full software lifecycle development
Integrate system parameters and software solutions into real-time systems, ensuring the functionality of the requirement
Participate in code and other software artifacts reviews
Convert complex Algorithm Design Documents to working software features.
Interact with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to obtain derive requirements needed to accomplish tasks
Manage a workload with excellent resolution analysis skills
Minimum of five years experience supporting, developing, and integrating real-time embedded software with a related Bachelors degree or three years of experience with a related Masters degree
Experience performing requirements analysis
Experience developing within an Agile environment
Experience with Ada, xC/C+
- Experience using Windriver Vxworks Real-Time Operating Systems
Willingness to work occasional overtime in support of critical program events.
Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and oral form, and work within multi-disciplined teams. This includes demonstrated effective communication with internal and external customers.
Willingness to work on physical systems with systems engineers, and travel to assist in system integration and test events
U.S. Citizenship status with reasonable ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance within 1 year of start date.
Experience working with AdaCore and GnatStudio programming languages
Experience with Agile lifecycle processes to include: Scrum; Continuous Integration; and Test Driven Development Methodologies
Knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Windows, operating systems
Experience with Object Oriented (OO) design and Unified Modeling Language (UML)
Working knowledge of: GIT, JIRA, and Confluence
Experience with ground-based and airborne sensors
Working knowledge of MIL-STD-1553
Experience with EO/IR sensors
Expertise in line-of-sight control, video processing, or camera control
Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
M.S. in Computer Science, Computational Engineering, or related discipline, with background in embedded software design, development, and hardware integration
