This Beam Director Lead Systems Engineer position is a significant role for Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) High Energy Laser programs located in McKinney Texas. The BD Engineer will perform at a high operational tempo and demonstrate an ability to react quickly to changes in both the plan and/or priorities as the engineer supports the design, development and deployment of Raytheon’s High Energy Laser Beam Directors. The role will also be a strategic position requiring contact with customer counter parts, internal and external. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership, guidance and direct interfacing with customer organizations as well as working groups, contractors, and Raytheon personnel necessary to provide customers with validated systems to meet the customer needs and acceptance criteria.
Job Related Activities
Systems Engineering Leadership responsibilities for the overall technical execution of the system engineering, integration, test, and Validation & Verification functions for HEL Beam Directors.
Communication and interface to program leadership and external customers.
Requirements analysis, derivation and flowdown from System/Sub-system level to LRUs, components and suppliers
Lead design reviews, test/production readiness reviews, gate reviews, trade studies and other program/customer reviews as required to keep the team on track.
Managing resources (including people, facilities, and equipment) efficiently to execute the team’s plan.
Ensuring the consistent application of engineering best practice and all activities undertaken under your control are conducted to common standards in accordance with Raytheon's IPDS processes.
Leading dialogs with Leadership and customers to resolve technical issues.
Support the Product Area Chief Engineer (PACE) in developing and managing the technical solution in support of customer needs/requirements.
Perform assigned department leadership duties as required.
Lead the management of subcontractor technical solutions and installations.
Minimum of 10 years of Systems Engineering experience in requirements, development, integration and verification.
Systems Engineering experience with stabilized EOIR targeting systems
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Demonstrated strong organization, coordination, planning, and team building skills
Ability to present analytic results to executives in clear language about the implications of the results to the organization .
Systems Engineering experience with High Energy laser related products
Project Financial Manager experience
Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) experience
Agile Methodology Understanding
Prior experience in Aerospace and Defense
Prior experience in manufacturing process
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related technical discipline (preferably Systems, Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering)
Advanced degree in a related field
