This role is for a seasoned Supplier Quality & Development professional. Works as an individual contributor to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on area of responsibility. May manage Supplier Quality & Development processes and / or projects. Uses experience and knowledge to influence supplier qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing Zero Defect Plans (ZDP) at critical suppliers as part of the larger Collins and Interiors initiatives.

  • ZDPs include the use of RRCA, PPAP Tools, Manufacturing Process Reviews, and Statistical Process Control. Report outs on plan and progress will be made to executive team on a regular basis.

  • Assigned multiple suppliers to manage quality activity involving multiple product lines affecting multiple sites.

  • Responsible for quality problem resolution, processing and closure of supplier quality notifications (escapes, disclosures), on-time closure and follow-up of all associated corrective actions.

  • Supporting/leading supplier quality meetings/reviews and weekly stand up meetings in front of Quality & Supply Chain Leadership.

  • Root cause and corrective action (8D) is required for all supplier escapes.

  • Assist assigned suppliers in systemic root cause corrective action analysis, manufacturing process reviews, and track supplier actions.

  • Support value stream meetings as needed.

  • Support quality system, product, or technical process audits.

  • Identify areas of improvement within the organization and hold an event to solve the problem.

  • Travel required in support of supplier issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in quality system, product, or technical process audits preferred.

  • RRCA and problem resolution experience preferred.

  • Quality experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Root Cause Analysis skills and Corrective Action implementation background preferred.

  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Supply Chain and audit experience with AS9100 & AS9102, Processing background (HT, NDT etc.) Digital Product Definition & Model Based definition experience preferred.

  • PPAP & SPC working knowledge & implementation preferred.

  • Familiarity with FAI documentation preferred.
