The CNS Navigation Department is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Melbourne, Florida location. The right candidate will have experience with digital, analog, and RF circuit design. As an experienced engineer you will oversee one or more navigation avionics products used for the air transport, regional jet and business jet market. These products include RF based navigation receivers and inertial navigation sensors.

You will serve as the engineering focal for both internal production as well as customer support. Skills required include circuit card design, field failure analysis, environmental testing, and FAA certification processes. This position will be expected to work with minimal supervision.

Relocation assistance is available once we return to the site

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering teams for various avionics products

  • Supporting customer questions at the engineering level

  • Perform failure and certification investigations

  • Revise designs to address component obsolescence and field failures

  • Support new product development

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (STEM degree preferred) and 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required

  • Have relevant analog, digital or RF design experience.

  • Be capable of hand-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment.

  • Utilize strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • Be able to multi-task and manage through unexpected events.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • An understanding and ability to execute environmental testing to DO-160.

  • An understanding of DO-254 design assurance guidance for airborne electronic hardware.

  • Experience or training in all aspects of the hardware life cycle, including requirements capture, design and development, requirements verification qualification, and certification
