The Project Engineer leads a team of Systems, Hardware, and Software Engineers to developing Manufacturing Test solutions for internal Collins Aerospace customers.
The PE should be well-versed in Project Engineering Management principles and qualities, such as Technical Leadership, Scope Management, Risk Management, Requirements Management, Configuration Control and Change Management, Planning and Scheduling.
Work with internal customers to resolve complex requests / issues
Prepares Proposals for engineering projects
Manages multiple projects with precision and speed
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines while maintaining focus on quality and continuous improvement
Detail oriented and self-motivated
Solid written communication skills and strong verbal communication skills
Sound economic-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed and logical decisions.
Excellent project management skills
Thorough understanding of the engineering project lifecycle (requirements through V&V)
Collaborate with other team members to resolve issues and escalate matters when needed
Manage the project technical risks and the corresponding mitigation plan
Be accountable for Engineering Work Package (WP) Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD)
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline
Have good communication, documentation, and collaboration/teamwork skills
Have domain knowledge of avionics products
Have domain knowledge of Test Equipment
Manage projects that include inter-disciplinary teams
