We are currently searching for an experienced Systems Engineer with experience in RF/Analog/Digital circuit design as it applies to advanced radio communication systems. This position will begin with a period of mentoring and eventual transition to assume the responsibilities as the cognizant engineer overseeing our HF Communication product line.
The candidate must be self-motivated, self-disciplined, with good communications skills, and a demonstrated ability to work within a multifunctional, multidiscipline team. The candidate will be required to demonstrate flexibility and an ability to coordinate with multiple internal organizations, suppliers and customers to achieve a common goal. Candidates should have good practical experience in systems development and design sustainment engineering.
Relocation assistance is available once we return to the office
Lead a small team of design sustainment engineers in support of the Collins HF Communication Transceiver product line and the HF Antenna Impedance Tuner.
Provide layout supervision and guidance of complex RF/Analog/Digital circuit card assemblies to dedicated board designers.
Develop system verification test plans, procedure and reports
Create and track project schedules
Generate engineering bids for new variations of existing products
Perform root cause analysis for factory, installation and field issues as needed
Generate and release certification documents
Communicate status to multiple program offices
Proactively manage component obsolescence and hardware circuit card re-designs
Mentor junior Electrical Engineers
Upon mastery of the system, the applicant will participate in the design and creation of a future HF systems
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.
Electrical Engineer proficient in RF and analog circuit design (RF Receiver front end, RF Power Amplifiers, Frequency Synthesizers)
Generalist with regards to Digital/Analog Design and Verification of FPGAs, DSPs, Logic, Memory Devices, Analog Converters, UARTS and Power Supplies
Excellent communication and documentation skills
HF Ham Radio enthusiast
Experience with Software defined radios
Antenna design and analysis
Project management / Business acumen
Experience with DO-160 qualification requirements
Experience with the development of automated test systems
