The Cold Section Supplier Quality Engineer will provide support to the Cold Section Mod Center and Global Supply Chain organization relative to improvement of suppliers' Quality as well as providing Quality interface, expertise and support to Suppliers. The candidate shall be highly motivated and effective team player with strong communication and influential skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute supplier qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes.

  • Manage supplier quality issues through monitoring / escalation processes, escape management, processing of supplier submission of non-conforming material and supporting internal MRB processes.

  • Initiate part specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions.

  • Support supplier qualification / certification.

  • Performs Escape management procedures, drives root cause analysis & problem solving (Red-X & 8D) and recommends corrective and preventive action for systemic process and product design problems for product provided by suppliers.

  • Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality initiative strategies and addresses with key proactive quality tools (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), driving their implementation.

  • Ensures that supplier is capable to meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (UPPAP) acceptance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 7+ years of quality experience in engineering, manufacturing, and/or aerospace

  • US citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable / experienced in AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality systems

  • Working knowledge/ proficiency in Quality tools such as FAI, PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T elements, etc.

  • Experienced in driving CAR and PAR and eliminating non-conformances at the Supplier level

  • Practical ACE/Six Sigma experience or other Lean Systems experience a plus

  • Prior experience in composite and or non-metallic materials manufacturing and or testing desired

  • ASQ (CQE, CQM) certifications a plus

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels of the organization

  • A strong desire to succeed and pursue continued growth and developmental opportunities

  • Ability to meet commitments, balance and resolve conflicting priorities

  • High energy, dynamic individual who strives for continuous improvement

  • Results focused work ethic to resolve issues in a timely manner
