This position is for an Established Supplier Quality & Development professional. Works as an individual contributor to set and achieve objectives of own area of responsibility. Influences supplier qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes with knowledge and explanations of Supplier Quality & Compliance practices and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:•Understand key aspects of managing and assuring Mod Center supplier Quality to support and achieve best-in-class supplier quality, delivery and service while acting as the primary Quality Engineer to suppliers•Maintain key relationships with suppliers’ Quality and Operations Management teams, as well as PW Engineering and Procurement teams Collect/Compile data and drive. Continuous improvement initiatives at the supplier in reaction to quality escapes, and in support of reduced cost and lead-time
•Manages supplier quality issues through monitoring / escalation processes, escape management, processing of supplier submission of non-conforming material and supporting internal MRB processes•Require and coach suppliers to find root cause and implement corrective / preventive action on all escapes and high pain recurring quality issues, coordinate quality issues with PW Engineering and Supplier Engineering on supplier-designed components •Provide research and supports root cause analysis in escape management procedures. •Makes recommendations for the development of corrective and / or preventive actions for systemic process and product design problems for product provided by suppliers.•Reviews supplier processes and metrics and makes recommendations to ensure supplier is capable to meet all requirements•Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality initiative strategies and addresses with key proactive quality tools (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), driving their implementation•Team with Engineering and Procurement to execute the supply base improvement plans to improve quality signature and ensure customer confidence Support Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) reviews•Support proactive initiatives with suppliers, on MPV, and MRL activities
Basic Qualifications:•Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree and 3+ years of experience•US citizenship is required due to government contracts
Preferred Qualifications:•Quality Engineering experience in an aerospace production or equivalent environment.•Prior experience in composite and or non-metallic materials manufacturing and or testing desired.•Experienced in AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality systems is a plus•Must possess working knowledge/ proficiency in Quality tools such as FAI, PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T elements, etc.•Must be experienced in driving CAR and PAR and eliminating non-conformances at the Supplier level.•Practical ACE/Six Sigma experience or other Lean Systems experience a plus.•ASQ (CQE, CQM) certifications a plus.•Ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels of the organization and collaborate cross-functionally
