Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Training Manager responsible for, but not limited to the following:
The primary objective of this position is on the development, implementation and administration of technical training for manufacturing operations with combining an understanding of manufacturing processes, curriculum creation and education.
Focus on the creation and administration of a training qualification system that focuses on improving the technical competencies of manufacturing employees, while reducing training cycle time. This includes, but is not limited to, managing training growth, creating and fostering training partner relationships, establishing traditional and blended learning solutions, monitoring training KPIs, and defining procedural aspects related to technical training. Training materials should be designed in multiple delivery formats, i.e., online, classroom, plus on-job-training.
Fully utilize and embrace CORE (Continuous Improvement).
Comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements.
Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
Attend scheduled EH&S training program.
Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans.
Recommend improved EH&S practices.
Work independently, in conjunction with local educational resources and suppliers of educational materials, develop a demonstrated-based skills assessment tools and curriculum to define a baseline knowledge level for required manufacturing skills across several manufacturing processes and core competencies.
Create and maintain training materials and manuals.
Facilitate/administrate instructor-led training classes and oversee online training as required.
Develop and maintain a profile of individuals approved to supplement OJT (train the trainer).
Working with plant management to ensure training and development records are maintained.
Develop, manage and maintain in-house training facilities, equipment, products, and other learning resources.
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education, Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development or directly related field and 3+ years prior relevant experience.
8+ years of related experience developing or delivering technical training in a similar environment.
5+ years' leadership experience.
US Person Status required due to government contract.
This position is working onsite at our Middletown, PA facility.
Advance degree in Instructional Industrial Education, Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development.
Highly organized, and the ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical employees with an understanding of ISO standards.
Knowledge of adult learning methods, strategies and techniques.
Knowledge of a manufacturing environment, ISO standards, Lean Six Sigma manufacturing principals.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes including Turning, Milling, Grinding, Assembly, Coatings & Thermal Processes.
High level understanding of manufacturing positions required on a manufacturing shop floor.
Possess an energetic, positive attitude and the ability to lead a class.
Self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision.
Knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation.
Knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools.
Proven ability to compete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, execute, monitor and evaluate).
Ability to communicate professionally in all mediums with a variety of stakeholders and customers across all organizational levels.
Proficient in project management & driving complex initiatives in highly matrixed organizations.
