Raytheon Technologies Industrial Engineer in Midland, Ontario
We are looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our team!
In this position, the incumbent will utilize their operations experience to apply lean methodologies to processes and procedures in all, areas of the business. The individual will use proven industrial engineering tools to refine manufacturing and operational execution throughout the business. Responsibilities will include leading functional teams to map business processes, lead discussions for improvements through the lens of various lean tools and then set the end state target for execution. The role will also encompass site and program factory layouts as well as production execution and development strategies to improve safety, quality, schedule and cost.
Ability to lead small teams utilizing lean methodologies to tactically drive various industry process improvements
Able to breakdown manufacturing and assembly processes to analyze deficiencies and areas for improvement
Develop and monitor project execution schedules and budgets with a diverse team from multiple functions
Participate in design reviews with internal functions to help drive Design to Cost and Design for Manufacturing initiatives
Establish and apply standard work methodologies across all functional areas of the business
Help assess manufacturing, assembly, technology, and metrology opportunities to develop new robust production solutions
Focus on eliminating wasteful procedures and cost reduction on programs and projects
Provide leadership in root cause and corrective action investigations of manufacturing and assembly processes
Improve process and operations through Kaizen activities to resolve People, Safety, Quality, Schedule & Cost issues
An Industrial or Professional Engineer degree is preferred. Will consider equivalent experience in a similar function with demonstrated experience. This position relatively new and requires the incumbent to be driven and take on independent projects.
Ability to interpret engineering design blueprints, specifications, and technical data
Skills in project management , cost estimation, budgeting, and return in investment proposals
Computer Skills in MS Office, MS Project, MS Access, Power Point, Inventor, AutoCAD
Previously implemented Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, and One-Piece-Flow systems
Experienced with TPM, Kaizen Blitz, Value Stream Mapping, Operations Standardization, and 5S
Excellent experience with plant layout & workstation design, OH&S, ergonomics, line balancing and time studies
Must take a hands-on approach to the position and be extremely results-oriented
Command of ISO/TS-16949, Quality audit, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, DOE, SixSigma methodologies
Experienced with various manufacturing processes, tool design, gauging and GD&T
Able to assess process capability, SPC and GR&R
Passion for the application of Lean & continuous improvement philosophies for assembly line setup and mfg execution
Ability to effectively prioritize and work well under pressure in a dynamic environment
Demonstrate initiative & proactive characteristics including the ability to work with limited supervision
Good interpersonal skills and enjoys working on a team
Ability to work collaboratively, open to sharing ideas, and listening to others, open to new ways to drive improvements
Ability to resolve conflicts and problems quickly and effectively while maintaining independence and an ethical behavior
Candidate should have an acute attention to detail for reviews and developing others
You have strong communication and presentation skills with the capacity to work well with people at all levels of the organization
