Collins Aerospace - Aerospace is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated manufacturing engineering intern. We will provide you with the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience. In addition to the engineering support to the shop floor operation, the intern will participate in design and 3D printing of the next generation shadowboxing templates for the aerospace production process.

Projects may change depending on the business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the operation’s production process

  • Design in CAD next generation templates for electric power components

  • Incorporate error proofing into design and improve quality of assembly and inspection

  • Utilize additive manufacturing equipment to produce templates

  • Maintain, tune and refine additive manufacturing process to increase speed and quality

  • Day to day responsibilities

  • Design next generation templates, collaborate with technicians and utilize 3D printing to produce template designs

  • Take guidance from engineering, operations and quality to refine the templates and improve the business

Basic Qualifications:• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holderPreferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Siemens NX, Solidworks, Catia, Pro E, or other CAD software

  • Desire to learn aerospace operations, lean and process improvement

  • Must be pursuing a four year degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Aerospace Engineering. Also any other technical degree or Computer Science degree is accepted.

  • Should be at least a sophomore with some completed course material relating to mechanical design of products (heat transfer, fluid mechanics, machine design and analysis, structural analysis, etc)
