Raytheon Technologies Firewall Security Engineer in Morrisville, North Carolina

This position is CONTINGENT upon funding, an open position, customer approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain & maintain a USPS sensitive clearance.

An experienced Firewall Security Engineer is needed to support the customer team.

The ideal candidate will have experienced with firewall operations, management processes and leading practices. Must have experience in reviewing existing firewall rules for compliance, efficiency and accuracy.


  • The position requires U.S. Person status or a Non-U.S. Person be eligible to obtain Authorization.

  • Must have minimum of 5+ years of related operational experience

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Experience with network firewalls and rule configuration for Cisco devices

  • Good communication skills in dealing with Telecommunications engineers and business owners

  • Consult with other members of project team and develop requirements documentation

  • Review firewall rule sets and log analysis for inefficient, unneeded and unapproved rules

  • Research problems and recommend solutions to improve firewall security

  • Support a nationwide implementation of firewalls (Validate, test, and manage firewall rules)

  • Familiarity with network discovery tools (e.g. RedSeal)

  • Experience with ServiceNow Change/Incident/Problem management

Required Experience and Education:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, in an information technology discipline or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or IT work experience.
