Raytheon Technologies PKI Security Engineer in Morrisville, North Carolina

This position is CONTINGENT upon funding, an open position, customer approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain a USPS sensitive clearance.

An experienced PKI Security Engineer is needed to join the cyber security team of a major nationwide organization, with thousands of sites, to continually improve its complex multi-protocol nationwide network. The candidate for this job will be experienced in digital certificate management processes, and leading practices, or infrastructure IT background in some or all of the following disciplines: Systems Administration (Windows, Unix OS), Network administration, Active Directory and/or Virtualization.

The successful candidate for this job will be able to leverage the customer’s existing ServiceNow and Venafi solution to receive, review requests for, and issue certificates for the organization and have experience with PowerShell and other scripting tools.

Location: Morrisville, NC.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Consult with other members of project team and end users to identify PKI requirements and develop requirements documentation

  • Contribute to the technical direction on all areas of PKI architecture, including policies, standards, strategies, automation and governance

  • Provide guidance to key stakeholders on PKI lifecycle, processes and procedures

  • Computer security, specifically in Windows/LINUX OS environment

  • Customer focus for supporting hundreds of USPS applications / services using thousands of certificates

    Required Experience:

  • Experience writing scripts for system automation (PowerShell, Python, Linux shell, etc.) and using Ansible (a software provisioning, configuration management, and application-deployment tool)

  • A solid understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) including technology, standards, and implementations, with experience managing, configuring, or supporting a PKI certificate authority (especially Microsoft ADCS).

  • Experience with certificate management tools (ideally Venafi, Microsoft CA)

  • Must have at minimum 4+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree

  • The position requires U.S. Person status or a Non-U.S. Person be eligible to obtain Authorization.

    Required Education:

    Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline plus 4+ years of professional work experience in a related field such as Public Key Infrastructure, Infrastructure IT (Systems Administration, Network Administration Windows/Linux OS, Network Administration, Active Directory and/or Virtualization. Work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

    Certifications (*one or more of the following is required):

    CompTIA Security +, CompTIA Net+, CompTIA A+, CPTE - Certified Penetration Testing Engineer, CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker, IBM DB2, Oracle and MS SQL Server, Java, JavaScript, SQL, Linux, Windows, SSL and HTML/CSS, or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)

    Desired Skills:

  • IT system administration experience (systems management, networks, firewalls) in an enterprise environment.

  • Infrastructure IT (Systems Administration, Network Administration Windows/Linux OS, Network Administration, Active Directory and/or Virtualization).

  • Experience with user directory technologies for authentication (e.g., LDAP, Active Directory).

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with Unix and Linux configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with technologies that use TLS/SSL encryption (e.g. F5, Netscaler, IIS, Apache, WebLogic, WebSphere, etc.)

  • Demonstrated proficiency with server virtualization technologies (VMWare, HyperV)

  • Computer security, specifically in Windows/LINUX OS environment

  • Experience with ServiceNow or other Change/Incident/Problem management ticketing technology

  • Database administration (MSSQL) experience.

  • Strong communication skills in working with IT developers and system administrators
