The Senior Product Engineer will be responsible for working within a small team of dedicated engineers to build, test and implement product solutions based on a set standard of requirements. This includes the ability to translate vendor products, product code, roadmap services and implement without negatively impacting current processes. The Senior Product Engineer will provide the engineering and fourth level support for all Teams and SfB \Skype for Business platform and related services. This role will also architect and implement changes to the on premise and O365 environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding assigned product, how product integrates into Raytheon Technologies and customers. Individual will be responsible for understanding overall product, how to manage, support and initiate changes including the ability to demonstrate deep technical skills, proficiency with the design, implementation and support of Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business.

The position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for day-to-day support of shared product including roadmap of tools to services.

  • Integration between services and customers – by communicating status and issues.

  • Participate in vendor meetings to ensure vendor is delivering services timely and aware of product issues.

  • Participate in team meetings across organization to ensure product and service is meeting services.

  • Participate in troubleshooting, drive gaps and issues to resolution.

  • Collaborate with all functional areas.

  • Independently undertake projects of a complex nature and ad-hoc requests as required.

  • Analyze, architect, design and deliver solutions on all Teams and Skype for Business platform components. This will involve prototyping, solutioning, blueprints, road-mapping, technical delivery and coordination with multiple stakeholders and peer technical groups through detailed documentation & presentations.

  • Architecture and engineering of Microsoft Skype for Business Server, providing guidance and deep technical knowledge on various Skype for Business architecture elements deployed in an Enterprise environment (Both on premise and O365), including but not limited to:

  • Resolve problems escalated by the Teams and SFB Administration team

  • Approve and deliver root cause for incidents and oversee corrective action. Engineer permanent solutions, and coordinate implementation

  • Provides support, (architecture, administration, maintenance, monitoring, backup, contingency), for multiple messaging and collaboration technologies

  • Architects improvement opportunities spanning service delivery, user experience, security, etc.

  • Implement and execute system upgrades of the on premise servers

  • Maintain existing and, as required, develop new documentation that will include but is not limited to SOPs and System Architecture Guides and diagrams adhering to organizational templates, policies, and standards

  • Serve as an expert to support the education and training of EUS technical staff, working to increase administrator proficiency and management of implemented solutions

  • Participate in 24/7 on call rotation

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills (Basic Qualifications):

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience architecting, deploying and configuring Lync/Skype for Business audio, video and telephony solutions as well as integration with Exchange/Office 365 Unified Messaging. Experiences must include:

  • Preparing and delivering written and verbal reports and general communications to audiences of varying levels of seniority and technical ability.

  • Collaborating and coordinating activities with stakeholders and infrastructure teams on upgrades, installations, and integrations.

  • Experience integrating Skype for Business with other unified communications systems (e.g. chat, media, video, voice)

  • Experience with both on-premise and O365 Skype for Business deployments

  • Experience with MSFT Teams deployments

  • Experience with Azure Active Directory and networking

  • Powershell scripting skills

  • Experience with voice and video integrations

  • VoiP, SIP and SIP trunking (Centralized, Local)

  • Network Architecture and QoS (optimized for real-time voice/video)

  • Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging

  • Experience with Fault-tolerant and Highly Available Architecture

  • Strong analytical skills; able to assess and solve issues in a high-pressure environment

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret clearance; US Citizen ship is required.

  • Interest in and ability to learn and master new technologies

  • Willing and able to participate in 24/7 on-call rotation


  • Bachelor’s degree +7 yrs experience, or Advanced degree +5yrs experience desired.

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience with conferencing tools (Zoom, WebEx and Teams)

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience with network topology

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience with desktop (Windows 10 preferred)

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with O365 GCC-High

  • Office 365 Directory Synchronization tool (DirSync)

  • Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS)

  • Microsoft Azure Active Directory Connect tool (AD Connect)

  • Strong analytical problem solving, priority setting, facilitation, and collaboration skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and lead through influence to accomplish challenging goals & objectives.

  • Excellent understanding of document control, update processes and tools.

  • Must work well under pressure and have the flexibility to manage multiple demands.

  • Self-starter and independent thinker who is capable of finding and developing solutions.
