Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced, proactive, and goal oriented professional to lead project management of Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) deployment and execution within the Operations Module Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Module Center Operational Excellence (OpX) Leader, the Project Manager will be integrated to the manufacturing engineering organization and will be the primary liaison between module center MRL execution, the Core Manufacturing Engineering Program Chief Manufacturing Engineer (ME PCME) team, and internal and external customers.

  • Ensure uniform distribution of tasks amongst the module center Manufacturing Engineer (ME) team and drive project performance, progressive milestone measurement, and adherence schedule and budget.

  • Review technical, schedule, cost and budget risks at the module center level and collaborate with Component Improvement Product Teams (CIPTs) and Core ME to drive performance to target.

  • Opportunity to work in a growing organization coordinating projects of the highest priority to Pratt & Whitney. This function will be responsible for business case generation and presentation to drive manufacturing process variation reduction, the advancement of MRL and communication to Sr. Management.

  • Leadership role in driving team MRL advancement performance of most key selected parts to drive down defect rate through variation reduction projects with a team of skilled engineers.

  • Leadership role in driving team MRL advancement performance of manufacturing critical parts list (MCPL) to increase safety margin through variation reduction projects executed by skilled engineers.

  • Partner with module center manufacturing engineers to manage L3 schedules on numerous engineering change, new product introduction (NPI), source transition, and technology insertion tasks.

  • Monitor and report MRL progression status and milestone risks to senior leadership, internal and external customers.

  • Coordinate review and communication of project risks with Core ME, generate and present business cases to support risk reduction and/or quality improvement/cost savings.

  • Monitor module center charging, track performance to budget and cost of MRL execution.

  • Collaborate with Core ME team to improve existing manufacturing readiness standard work and business processes.

  • Ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively.

  • Implement and execute engineering changes to ensure customer requirements are met and financial commitments are achieved.

  • Ensure MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) aligns to Program requirements as hardware transitions from development to production across the Module Center.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering and/or Operations Degree or equivalent experience and 10+ years prior relevant Program/Project Management, Operations, Engineering, Quality experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and 7+ years’ prior relevant Program/Project Management, Operations, Engineering, Quality experience.

  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts.

  • Travel up to 30%.

  • Demonstrated proficiency leading and managing a large portfolio of cross functional projects.

  • Capable of influencing and getting cooperation and action from others.

  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written), work and relate with people at all levels of the organization and be self-sufficient.

  • Effective team player, good coaching skills and can develop other co-workers.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Minitab and other statistical software experience.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics.

  • Strong business acumen & an ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business requirements.

  • ACE/CORE/ 6 Sigma knowledge and/or certification.

  • Strong understanding of other continuous improvement skills: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc.
