The Collins Aerospace Power & Controls Production Support team is a group of aerospace technical support professionals stationed on-site at a major aerospace manufacturing customer’s production facility located in Charleston, SC. The Operations Support Manager is a member of that team and serves as the primary on-site focal for Collins Aerospace Power & Controls Operations, and is responsible for delivery assurance & logistics support, for timely resolution of all emergent Collins Aerospace product issues requiring rework or repair, for planning and incorporation of product retrofits, and for managing on-site resources necessary to carry out these responsibilities.
Management of planned retrofit activities, which may include preparation of retrofit work instructions used by outsourced technical support teams
Proactive and routine coordination with on-site Collins Aerospace Power & Controls Production Support team members, customer functional groups, and business unit value stream stakeholders to ensure positive progress and closure of ongoing emergent support & retrofit activities
Investigate and resolve issues holding Collins Aerospace products in the customer's receiving and shipping areas
Develop and manage continuous improvement plans to ensure customer satisfaction
Establish and maintain metrics in support of ACE/continuous improvement objectives and customer deliverables
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Preferred Qualifications & Skillsets:
Experience working in a team environment with multiple functions including Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Contracts to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Ability to lead on-site quality investigations
Flexible availability/responsiveness to customer requests, availability to travel (5-10%)
Specification & drawing familiarity, troubleshooting skills
Technical aptitude, general platform knowledge
Familiarity with Collins Aerospace’s Engineering, Operations, and Quality processes, and/or familiarity with ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
