Position will be main support to Operations Manager for all Quality activities related to business Operation (Production & Repairs), Supplier Management, and Distribution within a relatively small business unit responsible for production and repair of data acquisition systems, data transmission units and communication systems supporting Diagnostic, Prognostic and Health Management (DPHM) of Aircraft turbine engines.
Education & Experience Qualifications:
Engineering degree (B Eng or B Sc.) or Business degree (MBA an asset)
Minimum of 5 years related experience in Quality Management to include quality auditing, development and implementation of quality plans, and management of quality systems. Production, and/or Aftermarket for Avionics, aircraft or engine parts, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High degree of initiative and judgment required.
Experience in implementation and sustainment of AS9100 or ISO9001 certification preferred
Individual must have ability to be self-directed and manage projects with significant scope and complexity
Experience with engine/airframe controls/avionics and health management preferred.
Key Functions/Tasks:
Responsible for maintaining, communicating, and enforcing accurate and up-to-date Quality Management System
Conduct Management Review Meetings, document, update action plan and follow through to ensure completion of actions
Review and Update QA Manual, Procedures, Work Instructions and other applicable documentation on a regular basis
Understand FAA regulations and ensure suppliers’ compliance
Conduct internal and external audits, document, develop and follow through on corrective action plans as required
Interface with certification agencies (FAA, EASA, etc.)
Management Representative for AS9100 and responsible to maintain all AS9100 compliance requirements, audits and corrective action plans
Ensure Business compliance with various regulations (FAA, EASA, QMS Certification Agencies, etc.) for Production and Repairs via preparation for various agency audits and ensuring completion of corrective actions
Responsible to implement and maintain UTC UPPAP quality requirements across the organization
Responsible for all official communications with Aircraft OEM’s in regards to Quality (corrective action requests, bill of material management, engineering change process, etc.)
Flow down of P&WC corporate requirements (turbine engine OEM and aircraft OEM) quality requirements and ensure compliance
Conduct Repair Station product audits and customer self-assessment evaluations
Review and Manage CARs, PARs, SCARs, Calibration and MTBF/BR calculations
Manage ACE initiative (corporate continuous improvement program), hold Quality Clinic Process Chart (QCPC) clinics, keep control tower metrics, regularly evaluate and recommend necessary improvements to Quality and Production procedures
Process owner for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and all engineering documentation, BOM, and Parts Lists
Analyze reports of defective goods complaints, institute the necessary action to control or eliminate the manufacture of defective products
Maintain a system for evaluation and investigation of complaints and product difficulties.
Develop, improve, and communicate supplier and product metrics and reliability reports and communicate to the management team via monthly and quarterly reports
Assemble cross-functional teams and drives the group to plan, formulate and implement comprehensive quality procedures and actions required to maintain quality system and/or eliminate and reduce defects
Become International Trade Compliance (ITC) Focal for facility, attend training, flow down communications, ensure compliance and action plans completed
Other duties as assigned

Organization/Detail Oriented – proficient at handling several cross functional tasks concurrently while staying organized with attention to detail on all deliverables.
Self-Starter - must be able to work independently with ability to set own priorities, develop a work schedule, cultivate and implement solutions, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities accordingly
Computer – strong computer skills using MS office (word, excel, powerpoint, etc.), internet navigation/research, SAP, and Sharepoint
Ability to make Decisions by assessing situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization
Willingness to embrace professional development

Travels required (Domestic or international - 10% of the time)
