As a Commodity Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading alloy specific commodity sourcing strategies, contract coverage, supply risk mitigation, cost reduction, and quoting in support of the Central Raw Material Supply Chain.

This individual will ideally site onsite at Collins Aerospace Windsor Locks, CT location but can sit onsite at any Collins Aerospace domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consolidates global requirements

  • Develops channel strategies

  • Coordinates w/ embedded specialists on requirements

  • Supports RTX RM Council and lead for one-company negotiation w/ mill & distro partners

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be willing and able to travel 75% of the time

  • Knowledge of metal industry including experience w/ low-cost sourcing, mill engagements and contract negotiations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace experience preferred

  • Experience with SAP or ERP/MRP demand management systems

  • Experience negotiating with suppliers

  • A general understanding of Aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes
