We are looking to add a talented and forward-thinking Senior Test Support Engineer to our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This position is for a seasoned professional who will be responsible for maintaining production automated test equipment used for the testing of complex, electronic aerospace control products. This candidate will be part of a small team responsible for providing technical support and oversight of test systems running in our Phoenix production facility site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engineering support for electronic end-item testing.

  • Manage engineering changes into work packages.

  • Strong focus on maintaining internal and external customer satisfaction and quality.

  • Report functionally to test equipment design manager, located in Rockford, IL while receiving technical direction from Phoenix Test Support Engineering as well as the Rockford and Windsor Locks, CT Test Engineering design centers.

  • Use troubleshooting skills to determine root cause and corrective action of production test failures, on both electronic hardware and software.

  • This position requires the ability to interpret test requirements that define both the hardware IO and embedded software details of the unit under test as well as the test procedure and measurement boundaries used to determine successful test results.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment

  • Effective use of problem-solving skills and analytical thinking

  • Data analysis/investigation in support of robustness and yield improvement activities

  • Support of plant site initiatives such as total productive maintenance, and digital factory.

  • Ability to work within a cross-functional team that includes project, circuit, software, requirement, manufacturing, and product engineers

  • Ability to write scripts to data mine test failures that will be used for root cause analysis, tracking/reporting test yield and production presentations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Software Engineering

  • Experience with Windows/LINUX/UNIX operating systems

  • Software skills using text based and/or graphical programming languages (C, C#, XML, NI Test Stand & LabView, HTBasic & HPVEE)

  • Familiarity with IEEE-488, VME, VXI, & PXI instrumentation under PC control

  • Familiarity with standard communications busses/protocols such as RS232/422/485, IEEE1394, Mil-Std-1553, ARINC429, ARINC629, Ethernet, CAN Bus.

  • Experience with Hardware/software integration with an understanding of analog, digital, and power electronics circuits design and analysis

  • Familiarity with embedded test software concepts

  • H/W and S/W troubleshooting skills

  • Experience interfacing with outside suppliers to manage any instrument investigation/repair, or outsourced work

  • Experience using basic electronic instruments - scopes, meters, etc.

  • Ability to write scripts to data mine test failures that will be used for root cause analysis, tracking/reporting yield and production presentations

  • Experience as an electrical engineer

  • Electronic test and software troubleshooting background

  • Experience working in an electronics production test environment with knowledge of test software and hardware

  • Experience with MS Office applications
