Business Process Management - Technical Learning Systems

As a member of the Professional Development team, create and deploy systems and tools related to knowledge capture / transfer and workforce learning. Primarily responsible for leveraging Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365 applications to design and implement technical learning solutions in coordination and alignment with the Professional Development team vision and strategy and that supports a highly distributed, and often remote, workforce.

This responsibility includes all aspects of the development including requirements gathering, design, programming, testing, and deployment. In addition, you will serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance and support to help determine if/when SharePoint is a workable solution. Example responsibilities include:

  • Build proof of concept examples

  • Break down requested design into clearly defined, manageable work items

  • Prioritize and track progress on work items and deliverables, document project deliverables, and test completed deliverables to ensure effective deployment and end user usability.

  • Act as an expert advisor in all aspects of SharePoint best practices and be able to recommend technical solutions and options to learning related requirements

  • Leverage both standard and custom developed workflows to automate processes where appropriate and beneficial

  • Lead efforts to fully leverage and integrate Office 365 applications and capabilities in designing user-friendly learning solutions

  • Oversee, develop, maintain, and expand (as needed) all technical aspects of existing Professional Development team SharePoint tools including:

  • Fast Learning EXchange (FLEX) knowledge capture / transfer platform

  • Onboarding Excellence Program Management Tool

  • Talent Pipeline Program Management Tool

Required Skills:

  • Typically requires 8 years experience of years developing, implementing and customizing SharePoint based applications and business solutions

  • Thorough understanding of SharePoint architecture and capabilities including sites, site collections, master pages & templates, web parts, content types & policies, lists, libraries, workflows, forms authentication, and security groups

  • Experience with SharePoint Designer, developing SharePoint Workflows developing InfoPath forms and ability to transfer these work products to most current SharePoint and O365 versions deployed at RI&S.

  • Related Skills complimentary to Sharepoint development (i.e. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery, .NET, etc.) as needed.

  • Expertise with all out of the box SharePoint components including site templates, wiki pages, content types, custom workflows, etc.

  • SharePoint Portal, Search, and Document Management expertise

  • US Citizen

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in end user usability and creating functional user interfaces that improve the overall end user experience and efficiency

  • Experience with Office 365 applications and opportunities for integration with SharePoint solutions

  • Business process automation experience

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Solid interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate and interact confidently with individuals at all levels

  • Dedication to a high degree of customer service

  • Self-starter with effective planning, prioritization, critical thinking, and time management skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team / highly collaborative environment.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills

  • Ability to train others in basic, intermediate, and advanced technical skills as needed

Required Education (including Major):

Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a related field
