The systems Integration & Test (SIT) Directorate is responsible for integration, test and validation activities for Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) Naval Programs (NP). SI&T employees provide the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools, and techniques. SI&T employees are involved in all aspects of test, including design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing, and sell-off of RMD’s most sophisticated systems and technologies. Our Systems Engineers work with the other RMD Engineering disciplines from development of initial system concepts to product sell-off. We integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and test system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
An opportunity for a Senior Engineer currently exists within SI&T Undersea & Ship Systems Department in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Undersea & Ship Systems (USS) personnel execute integration, verification, validation, and sell-off for numerous defense programs with a primary focus on domestic and international naval systems, including surface ship, submarine, mine-hunting, and missile launching systems.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Five plus (5+) years of relevant integration, verification, and validation in systems engineering
Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)
Plans and executes software/systems integration plans and schedules
Prepares presentations and written communication for various stakeholders on program
Technical leadership experience
Experience in the operation, test, and troubleshooting of complex military systems
Experience with software/systems integration planning and execution
Familiarity with U.S government contract procurement process, including preparation of proposals
Ability to generate and present technical documentation, including customer briefings
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
This position can be an (Senior Engineer) or a (Principal Engineer), based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for the position
Qualifications We Value:
Experience leading a team, including cost account management and earned value reporting
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar budget tracking system
Experience with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
Experience with Raytheon’s Proposal Capture Process, including development of compliant Basis of Estimates (BOE) and White Sheets
Experience with the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and techniques and SCRUM master experience
Strong MATLAB knowledge and experience as it applies to conducting performance/data analysis
Experience with DOORS or related requirements management database tools and processes
Experience with programming in MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or other programming languages
Experience with US Navy and/or DoD customers
Familiarity with Navy systems and product lifecycle
Ability to travel as required, working in both office and field site/at-sea environments
Master's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related technical discipline
